Job DescriptionReporting to the Editor, the Associate Editor, English sub-edits SSENSE content across editorial, social and content marketing. The Associate Editor ensures that all content is accurate, in line with guidelines and tone of voice and free from grammatical and spelling mistakes. They ensure the best-in-class quality of our editorial across all owned and operated channels. The ideal candidate has meticulous attention to detail, excellent English writing skills and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
What you will do:
Copy-editing (90%):
- Copy-edit editorial, social and content marketing according to guidelines while holding strict standards of quality control to ensure content is consistent and accurate
- Develop SSENSE processes, point of view and creative direction while maintaining a rigorous schedule that meets deadlines, capacity and quality targets
- Co-develop and execute on content strategies for ad-hoc requests and projects while displaying ability to work with limited supervision
Continuous Improvement (10%):
- Recommend opportunities to standardize and optimize procedures related to product copy services
- Takes a broad perspective to problems and spots new and less obvious solutions while acting as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, Liberal Arts, Journalism or a related field
- A minimum of 3 years experience in writing and sub-editing, ideally as part of a content team in a high-volume production environment for an English-speaking market
- A strong proofreading and subbing background in fashion e-commerce, an asset
