Associate Director - Technical Program Manager

Job Description Summary

Direct a cross-functional development team to deliver new products and solutions to Global Services business partners and stakeholders. Ensure programs are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and desired quality. Drive clarity across departments by defining and prioritizing program objectives, critical success factors, and deliverables. Motivate the team and instill urgency in meeting program commitments.

Job Title: Technical Program Manager

Experience Level: 15+ years
Location: Bengaluru, India

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Execute single or multiple programs, managing risks, scope changes, and tracking outcomes.
  • Lead cross-functional execution including proof of concept projects, program execution, product delivery, operational improvement, process improvement, and product life-cycle management.
  • Collaborate with business, enterprise, and 3rd party partners to deliver quality products on time, within budget, and meeting business expectations.
  • Define execution methodologies and project management practices.
  • Implement and maintain governance frameworks to ensure compliance with Lilly’s standards.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of products in line with Lilly’s software development methodologies.
  • Manage stakeholder communication, business negotiation, and progress reporting at various organizational levels.
  • Make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks using technical expertise and collaboration.
  • Guide team members' growth through performance management, development planning, and career advancement.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture that drives innovation and accountability.
  • Be a good steward of Lilly's resources.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree and MBA.
  • 5+ years of experience managing programs in a highly regulated industry.
  • 10+ years of program management experience, leading product development from concept to global market introduction.

Desired Characteristics

  • Proven experience using project management methodologies in a regulated industry.
  • Certifications: PMP, PgMP, Agile (sAFE) (preferred).
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience with knowledge of GxP and pharmaceutical processes.
  • Awareness of SDLC, mobile application development, cloud development, AI platforms, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, remove roadblocks, and prioritize conflicting requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence outcomes and organize team members.
  • Experience leading and working with global teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent influencing, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with external business partners and driving procurement.
