Job Description:
The Associate Director of Strategy & Operations for the U.S. Specialty franchise plays a critical role in ensuring the organization is aligned, prepared, and operationally disciplined for the Specialty Franchise. Reporting to the Head of Strategy & Operations for Specialty, this role will partner closely with cross-functional leaders across Commercial, Medical, Access, and Commercial Operations to support strategic planning, meeting preparation, and operating rhythm execution.
This position is designed to be the strategic operator and integrator for the Specialty business, driving day-to-day coordination, synthesizing cross-functional inputs, preparing high-quality executive materials, and ensuring timely execution of deliverables. supporting harmonized operational processes across the MS and Lupus portfolios.
This is a high-visibility role requiring strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-moving, highly matrixed environment.
What You’ll Do:
Strategic & Operating Rhythm Support
- Partner with the Head of Strategy & Ops to run the U.S. Specialty operating model, including standing leadership forums, launch readiness meetings, and governance reviews
- Lead meeting preparation: develop agendas, synthesize updates, draft executive-ready pre-reads, and coordinate follow-ups and action tracking
- Ensure clear alignment and timely execution across Commercial, Medical, Access, Commercial Operations, and Analytics
Launch Readiness Execution
- Coordinate cross-functional launch readiness deliverables, timelines, and dependencies across MS Profile.
- Maintain and manage trackers, GTM launch plans, and milestone dashboards
- Support risks/mitigations, scenario planning, and operational issue escalation
- Liaise with data/insights partners to consolidate inputs into concise narratives for leadership
Budget, Resourcing & Operational Tracking
- Support operational budget tracking and coordination of Lupus-related investment planning
- Track deliverables, performance indicators, and operational progress needed for executive reviews
Specialty Support
- Support MS and Lupus strategic ops harmonization through standardized templates, reporting processes, and operating rhythms
- Assist with MS meeting preparation (LT meetings, annual planning, etc.) as needed, ensuring consistency in quality and structure
- Contribute to cross-portfolio planning activities and operational improvements across the Specialty franchises
Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in biotech/pharma, consulting, or relevant strategic operations roles
- Strong planning, project management, and cross-functional coordination capabilities
- Exceptional written communication skills, with ability to produce boardroom-ready materials (decision-oriented pre-reads, executive summaries, and complex cross-functional syntheses)
- Negotiation and influence skills, with the ability to drive alignment among cross-functional stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and secure commitments without formal authority
- Ability to synthesize complex inputs into clear, actionable storylines
- Experience preparing materials for senior leadership forums
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Experience in immunology or launch preparation a plus
Additional Information
Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
