Reporting to the Head of Strategy & Corporate Development, the Associate Director, Strategic Insights will serve as an analytical engine for Attovia Therapeutics, Inc. The role spans competitive intelligence (CI), commercial assessment and forecasting, cross-functional strategic initiatives, etc., with priorities shifting based on the company’s needs in a given quarter.
Attovia is advancing multiple programs in a public company operating environment while building the infrastructure that will carry the portfolio toward later-stage development and commercialization. The person in this seat will work across that agenda, leading CI capture and synthesis while supporting opportunity assessment, indication and portfolio decisions, and materials prepared for executives and external audiences. This is a hands-on role in a lean organization, with direct exposure to company leaders and the strategic questions the company is actively working through.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the capture and delivery of CI spanning competitor programs, targets, and modalities, drawing on congresses, publications, trial registries, regulatory actions, company disclosures, and analyst commentary, and serve as the company's internal reference point on competitor pipelines, trial designs, data readouts, and disclosed strategy
- Translate competitive developments and broader industry trends in immunology into implications for portfolio strategy, indication sequencing, clinical development benchmarking, and partnering posture, and carry those implications through to actionable recommendations
- Own the assumption base underlying commercial forecasts across new and existing indications, working with company leadership and external consultants
- Own the use of AI and LLM tooling for CI, identifying and applying opportunities to improve information capture, structuring, and searchability of the knowledge base
- Design and guide primary research across KOL/HCP, payor, and patient audiences, and secondary research across analyst reports, publications, claims data, etc.
- Support company leadership on high-priority cross-functional initiatives and on external facing materials for partners, investors, analysts, etc.
Qualifications
- Strong scientific foundation in molecular/cellular biology, with the ability to read primary literature, interpret discovery/preclinical and clinical trial data, and hold technical discussions
- An advanced degree (PhD, MD) with 4+ years of experience across a strategy and/or insights function at a therapeutics company combined with experience at a top-tier life sciences strategy consulting firm, venture capital firm, or life sciences equity research group
- Demonstrated experience across competitive positioning, market sizing, revenue forecasting, and due diligence
- Qualitative and quantitative market research capability, with the financial modeling skill to build the underlying analyses and the storytelling judgment to distill them into clear presentation materials with a defensible narrative
- Demonstrated proficiency with AI and LLM tools to accelerate research and analysis workflows, and strong interest in building or deploying custom tools to enhance how a function operates
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication, adaptable to relevant stakeholder audiences (e.g., executives, investors, KOLs, scientists)
- Comfort operating across multiple functions and workstreams at once, with the project management discipline to hold deadlines through ambiguity
- Based in or relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% as required, including attendance at scientific and medical congresses
