The Associate Director, U.S. State and Local Tax position is responsible for researching, monitoring, advising, and documenting tax legal matters in a variety of areas of U.S. state and local tax law, including income, sales, use, and indirect taxes. The person in this role will also provide financial analysis and support for audits and acquisitions, specific to state and local tax.
Responsibilities:
- Research complex U.S. state and local tax issues as assigned, analyze application to company, provide tax legal advice to department, and document accordingly.
- Monitor relevant tax legislation and evaluate impact to company
- Collaborating with stakeholders on state and local tax matters
- Support state and local tax controversy defense, including researching and drafting responses to tax authority requests.
Basic Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate and 5+ years of relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. state and local tax laws
- Strong tax planning and research skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects
- Excellent organizational and self-management skills
Additional Preferences:
- CPA, MST or LLM degree is a plus
- Strong tax accounting knowledge, including FIN 48 and deferred taxes
- Knowledge of U.S. transfer pricing laws
- Strong leadership skills

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position as equivalent in USD is 101’000 – 165’000.
