Job Profile Summary
The Associate Director, Commercial Operations – Reporting Lead is a senior role within the Global Commercial Solutions organisation, responsible for designing, governing, and continuously improving the end-to-end commercial reporting ecosystem across all RBUs and GBUs. This role acts as the single point of accountability for operational reporting quality, standardisation, and automation, partnering with Finance, Sales, and regional leadership to ensure data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
Responsibilities
• Own and lead the Global Commercial Solutions reporting catalogue, including pipeline and BNF reporting, revenue and operational reporting, audit for duplication and implement best practices across RBUs and GBUs.
• Design and govern the commercial reporting framework: define reporting standards, data definitions, KPI taxonomies, and output templates to be used consistently across the global organisation.
• Lead the development and deployment of automated reporting solutions using Power BI, Snowflake, Power Query, and other advanced analytics tools, reducing manual effort and improving reporting cycle times.
• Partner with FP&A, DSO/Cashflow, and regional Commercial Operations teams to ensure alignment between commercial operational metrics and financial reporting, eliminating data disconnects and improving accuracy.
• Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for commercial data and reporting, providing guidance and enablement to RBU/GBU Commercial Operations teams on tools, processes, and best practices.
• Lead the onboarding of new RBUs/GBUs into the standardised reporting framework; develop training materials, host enablement calls, and manage change communication.
• Produce and present executive-level reporting and analysis for ELT and CEO-level audiences, including heat maps, risk ladders, and strategic performance summaries.
• Manage and develop a team of Commercial Operations analysts, setting clear objectives, providing coaching, and driving a culture of analytical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with IT, Data Engineering, and Finance Technology teams on reporting infrastructure development (e.g., Snowflake, Power BI governance, etc).
Education, Experience & Skills
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field; advanced degree or professional qualification preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in commercial operations, business intelligence, sales operations, or management reporting within a large, global organisation; life sciences or healthcare industry experience strongly preferred.
• Expert-level proficiency in Power BI, Snowflake, Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot, DAX), and SQL; experience with Salesforce or comparable CRM platforms preferred.
• Demonstrated track record of designing and delivering automated reporting solutions and managing complex reporting transformation programmes.
• Strong experience presenting to and influencing senior leadership (VP/SVP/ELT/Board level).
• Proven people management and stakeholder engagement skills; experience leading teams across multiple regions.
• Excellent project management and change management capabilities.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are an advantage
