The Global Pricing Team is charged with implementing and optimizing prices in the markets that ensure the long-term viability of the business, together with the development of solutions to accelerate patients' access to our medicines. We act as both educators and advocates for our products, processes, and practices that help us revolutionize how our medicines create value in society.
The successful candidate will: Provides strategic pricing support to senior Regional Management within Eastern European and Middle East and Africa regions. Represent the countries' perspectives from the assigned region for pricing strategies and activities on the basis of the economic, competitive and regulatory realities of the region. Educates subsidiaries on pricing theory and strategic operating procedures and advise on the implementation of pricing strategies. Identify and assessing intra-regional price trends and government activities that could impact our Company's long-term profitability. Seek opportunities to maximize profitability by assisting local stakeholders in the development of solutions to emerging issues. The role can also be based in Europe.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Price Approval Process: Manages pricing proposals and their corresponding approvals for the entire portfolio of Company products in the assigned region. On the basis of sound business judgement and understanding of the market context will assess price proposals, formulate the business case and develops recommendations to approve, amend or reject price proposals.
Present and advocate recommendation to key stakeholders including Regional Presidents, Global Brand Leaders, Global Pricing Leadership Team and others as necessary.
Analytics: Generates analytics to support relevant stakeholders with price referencing impacts, launch price determination, contract development and other commercial efforts as needed.
More importantly, the person will focus on Price Planning and Mitigation. The person will take an active role in the identification, planning and execution of mitigation activities as determined by the Price Plan, including:
- Proactive identification and characterization of cross-regional reference risks
- Development and implementation of price erosion mitigation actions in collaboration with Regional Pricing Leads and Regional Leadership
- Seeking opportunities to maximize profitability by assisting local and regional stakeholders in the development of solutions to emerging issues
Contributes to and leads strategic projects on an as needed basis to improve the overall pricing and reimbursement knowledge and skills of Global Pricing colleagues and the broader organization.
Your Profile:
Education Minimum Requirement:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in a finance, business or science-related discipline
Required Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of (3) years' experience in pharmaceutical industry beyond sales
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Persuasive writing and speaking skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with people from different cultures and backgrounds
- Experience in interacting with a broad range of senior management
