The Role

See yourself in our team:

The Global Markets Chief Operating Office is responsible for the execution of a range of operational, strategic and business transformation initiatives and reports directly to the EGM Global Markets. Our high-performing team operates at the heart of the business, working closely with the respective Trading, Sales and CM&S COOs, Domain Lead of Global Market Crews, and key Group and IB&M stakeholders to drive innovation and excellence.

Do work that matters:

This role will play a key part in the articulation and execution of Global Markets strategy. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Strategic Communication: Production of materials to articulate Global Markets strategy to internal and external stakeholders, aligning with broader Group and IB&M's purpose and objectives

  • Business Intelligence & Performance Analytics: Conduct financial analysis, benchmarking, and create regular reporting on key business metrics to generate data-driven insights that identify commercial opportunities, inform strategy, and highlight areas for optimisation

  • Stakeholder Management & Cross-functional Coordination: Build and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues across Global Markets and wider organisational functions, acting as a liaison between business units to ensure alignment on priorities, drive collaborative outcomes, and execute strategic initiatives

  • Product Knowledge & Project Execution: Develop deep understanding of Global Markets' product and solutions capabilities while supporting the prioritisation and delivery of strategic initiatives, managing risk controls, facilitating business change, and driving continuous operational improvements

We're interested in hearing from people who are:

Core Attributes & Mindset:

  • Energetic self-starter with sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and a solutions-focused mindset

  • Commercially and politically astute; someone who challenges inefficiencies, thinks critically, and balances financial and non-financial considerations

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity—thrives without SOPs and adapts quickly to changing priorities

Communication & Influence:

  • Strong communicator with exceptional writing skills for executive-level materials (ELT/FRC papers) and polished presentation abilities

  • Collaborative and relationship-oriented, able to influence without authority and build effective partnerships across the organisation

Technical & Analytical Skills:

  • Proficient with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, data visualisation, and eager to explore AI and productivity tools

  • Analytical thinker who can translate complex data into meaningful insights

Work Style & Execution:

  • Highly organised with excellent ability to triage and prioritise effectively while knowing when to escalate issues

  • Proactive in consulting across the business and working collaboratively with support functions

  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through to ensure initiatives reach successful completion

This opportunity will give you direct exposure to the dynamic business and as well as a wide range of stakeholders at all levels. You'll be part of an innovative team that is focused, smart, hardworking and passionate about our shared vision to create the very best experience for our customers.
