Job Description
- Provide oversight of the financial accounting deliverables undertaken within Malaysia including, but not limited to, Financial Control, Accounts Payable, Performance Management, HO and Statutory Reporting.
- Manage the team to ensure all reporting are in line with RBC and statutory requirements, e.g. Standard of Documentation packages, SOX, GL attestation, local regulatory survey and declaration, and Finance and Tax submissions to home authorities.
- Manage the team to complete the year-end audit and ensure financial statements are accurately completed and submitted in a timely manner
- Review the financial reports prepared and attend meetings set with various stakeholders for financial presentation.
- Assist with the Annual Budget and regular forecast for Malaysia businesses and in partnership with the business / function managers
- Enhance the business partnering capabilities of Malaysia Finance in support of country and business strategies.
- Conduct robust reviews of business and function costs, recommend and support cost saving initiatives
- Actively participate in local and global projects, including assisting in driving continuous process improvements, such as report standardization and centralization of processes
- Support the Head of Finance by providing input on strategy, priorities and team management, including succession planning for key roles
- Identify high performing individuals and provide future career paths and development opportunities for these individuals
- Ensure processes and standards of documentation are aligned with best practices, and enforce operational discipline through current and well maintained documentation
