About the Team
The Business Strategy & Operations Team in the Entertainment Business serves as a central strategic advisory group, working closely with leadership to inform enterprise-wide priorities. The team focuses on strategic planning, synthesizing business performance insights, identifying emerging opportunities, and providing perspective on high-priority, time-sensitive initiatives. Operating at the intersection of strategy, operations, and leadership decision-making, it is a lean team with high ownership and visibility across functions. The team is central to the entire Entertainment Business.
Job Role
- Strategic Planning & Business Priorities: Drive the development and refinement of JioStar’s long-term strategic vision for TV, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Continuously evaluate the strategic roadmap and recommend pivots based on business performance, market shifts, and emerging opportunities.
- Business Analysis & Problem Solving: Independently identify business gaps and improvement areas through structured problem-solving and data-driven analysis. Translate ambiguous problem statements into clear frameworks, root cause insights, and actionable recommendations in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Program & Project Ownership: Own end-to-end delivery of high-impact strategic initiatives—from identifying opportunities and building business cases to securing leadership alignment and driving cross-functional collaboration. Ensure timely delivery with measurable outcomes across functions.
- Leadership Decks & Communication Ownership: Own the creation and narrative of leadership-level decks, including CEO reviews, board updates, and townhalls. Translate complex analyses into sharp, structured, and insight-led storytelling tailored for senior stakeholders, ensuring clarity, precision, and strategic alignment.
- Competitive Intelligence & Benchmarking: Lead deep-dive competitive analysis using both quantitative and qualitative inputs. Build benchmarking frameworks to evaluate performance, identify gaps, and surface opportunities for strategic advantage.
- Analytical Ownership & Insight Generation: Take full ownership of key analyses, ensuring rigor, accuracy, and relevance. Synthesize large datasets into clear insights and drive data-backed decision-making across leadership forums
Education, Experience & Skills:
- MBA from tier 1 institute preferred
- 5 to 7 years of post MBA Experience
- Experience in analytical problem-solving in industry or consulting
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, macros, and power pivot
- Strong academic performance
- Should demonstrate the capability to lead a significant project or multiple smaller projects at a time
- Should be adept at contributing insights to hypotheses, analyses, and recommendations, ensuring thorough completion
- Should be able to fully own, develop and deliver presentations and excel analysis
- Working knowledge of Databricks, Amplitude, YUMI will preferred, but not mandatory
