ROLE OVERVIEW 

As Associate Design Director, Presentation & Internal Brand, you will shape how SALT communicates its most important ideas. 

This role sits at the intersection of design craft, brand stewardship, and visual storytelling, with a particular focus on presentation design and scalable brand systems. 

You will help elevate the quality and consistency of SALT’s most visible internal and external communications — including new business presentations, leadership decks, internal initiatives, and learning programs.

You’ll work closely with leadership, new business, operations, and HR to ensure SALT’s ideas are communicated clearly, confidently, and consistently.

This is a highly hands-on role for a designer who enjoys solving visual communication problems, building design systems, and bringing structure to fast-moving environments.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 

Presentation Design & Visual Storytelling
  • Design and elevate high-impact presentations for new business, leadership, and internal initiatives.
  • Translate complex ideas into clear, compelling visual narratives.
  • Develop presentation frameworks, layouts, and storytelling approaches that improve clarity and engagement.
  • Ensure SALT’s most important presentations reflect the highest standards of visual craft and brand expression.
Brand Systems & Design Infrastructure
  • Develop scalable design systems, templates, and presentation frameworks that enable teams across the agency to work more efficiently while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Create reusable visual components that allow teams to communicate ideas quickly without sacrificing quality.
  • Bring structure and clarity to a fast-moving environment by helping establish practical systems for brand expression across decks and internal communications.
Creative Collaboration
  • Partner with Creative Directors, leadership, and cross-functional teams to support SALT’s most important initiatives and communications.
  • Provide thoughtful creative feedback and help elevate the visual standard of internal work across the agency.
  • Collaborate with design peers and stakeholders to continuously improve how SALT communicates its ideas visually.
Visual Craft & Execution
  • Maintain a high standard of visual execution across typography, layout, hierarchy, and composition.
  • Remain hands-on in design work, particularly within presentation environments.
  • Ensure final deliverables meet production standards with precision and attention to detail.
Emerging Tools & Creative Innovation
  • Stay curious about new design tools, workflows, and technologies that can improve how creative work is produced and scaled.
  • Explore opportunities to incorporate AI-assisted design tools, automation, and modern workflows that help the team work smarter and move faster.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS 

  • 7+ years of professional design experience across brand, presentation, or digital design environments.
  • Expert-level PowerPoint skills with experience designing high-quality presentation decks, templates, and visual systems.
  • Strong typography, layout, and visual hierarchy skills.
  • Experience translating complex ideas into clear visual communication.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Comfort working in fast-paced, collaborative environments with evolving priorities.
  • Interest in emerging design technologies, AI-assisted workflows, and modern creative tooling.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Non-Bonus-Eligible Role 
Pay Transparency Statement (Base Salary Only) 

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $90,000–$110,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, level of responsibility, internal equity, and business needs. This range represents the expected base salary for this role and does not include other elements of SALT/The Kitchen’s total rewards program.
