Associate – Debt Finance

We were one of the first international law firms to open offices in Italy – Rome in 1993 and Milan in 1994. We know the Italian market well and have long standing experience in cross-border deals.

We have invested in our Italian offices and we are now one of the few firms who can offer clients a full-service capability. Our team of approximately 100 lawyers comprises professionals qualified to practice in Italy, England & Wales and New York and all our lawyers are permanently based in Italy.

Our Debt Finance team is currently composed by several associates who act on many of the ground-breaking deals in Italy and have become trusted advisers to the corporations and financial institutions that define the global markets.

You will be given the chance to handle a variety of work and be involved in working closely with clients and other lawyers. This means that you will develop outstanding transactional and organisational skills as well as high level technical abilities. 

This role presents an excellent opportunity for career progression as part of a growing team.

• You will ideally be an Italian qualified Associate (between 2 and 4 years post qualification experience) with substantial experience in leveraged finance and private debt deals in a top tier international law firm or a primary Italian law firm.
• You are interested in the Banking sector and, for this reason, you have delved into the subject during your professional experience.
• You will be a self-starter with a strong academic background, a team player with strong communication, analytical and drafting skills and a high level of commercial awareness, able to contribute to deals while managing different work-streams.
• You will have good English language skills and be able to work comfortably in English, both in drafting legal documents and advice and in communicating with clients and counterparties.
