Come Lead and Support the Cybersecurity Organization in this Unique Role – Cybersecurity Technical Assistant

You’ll work with, and report directly, to Andrea, Sr. Vice President – Chief Information Security Officer. Your role, as a technical operations and administration lead, is an opportunity to experience first-hand the ways in which the executives work. Your mix of work will be split, roughly 50/50, between project-based work and executive assistant responsibilities.

If you aspire to do big things in your career by broadening and enriching your Cybersecurity experience, this role will support your growth and expand your contributions. You will have many opportunities to demonstrate curiosity, creativity, professional maturity, and high learning agility. You will demonstrate a strong commitment and care for getting every detail right, you will communicate clearly and succinctly and be a natural planner and driver. You will manage multiple high priorities, handle sensitive business matters with confidentiality and professionalism. Lastly you will thrive under pressure and aren’t afraid to challenge others — including those that are senior to you in level.

The project work includes planning and leading team meetings, town halls, and other cyber events. You’ll help others embrace technology by partnering with teams across Lilly. You’ll create engaging presentations and provide input on executive documents. This includes owning monthly operations and program reviews and updates to tell the cyber security story and increase stakeholder engagement. Depending on how you want to grow in your career, we’ll add other types of projects and technical work that fit your interests.

The executive assistant’s work is primarily around complex calendaring and managing travel requests and expense reports. This includes proactively engaging with internal and external stakeholders for meetings, challenging and prioritizing meeting topics, and sensing logistical issues before they arise. Because you are a team member of Tech at Lilly, part of your task is to figure out how to bring technology into this role — and benefit all of Lilly through more automation.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Projects and Lead Team Support (50%)

  • You will create informational, engaging, and visually appealing presentations for town halls, Ops dashboards, and all hands meetings.

  • You will lead the way as a champion for simplifying and automating work where possible (e.g., piloting new tech or customizing existing solutions to meet needs).

  • You will be responsible for scheduling lead team meeting topics and keeping time in meetings.

  • You will embrace partnerships across Human Resources, Enterprise Communications, Finance, and other business units at Lilly.

  • You will be responsible for tracking actual spend for the Cybersecurity lead team budget and providing updates to the Finance team.

  • You must demonstrate strong writing skills and be an expert at providing feedback on confidential executive documents.

Administrative Support to the Senior Vice President – Chief Information Security Officer (50%)

  • You will show strong attention to detail and scheduling and can maintain complex calendars. You proactively establish strong working relationships with others at Lilly to maximize schedule coordination.

  • You will be privy to confidential information across the company and across many levels and must uphold the highest standard of integrity and honesty. Confidentiality and trustworthiness are critical traits.

  • Proficient in and potentially responsible for performing additional scheduling duties to support peers across the Tech at Lilly lead team and Cyber Lead Team.  This may also include personally directing local activities and special functions.

What You Should Bring:

  • A high degree of energy, combined with unquestionable integrity.

  • Willingness to start projects that are often a “blank sheet of paper,” gather feedback, and iterate.

  • Endless curiosity about technology and an interest in cybersecurity.

  • Strong communication skills and willingness to ask questions for clarification to ensure alignment and understanding.

  • You are known as the person that can take on any job, big or small, and you are the one that others always know they can trust.

Your Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years working experience in a matrix organization post degree.

  • High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years working experience in a matrix organization.

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.

Additional Preferences:

  • Creative skills, such as making presentations and producing videos.

  • Technical knowledge, especially in information technology, cybersecurity, data and analytics or artificial intelligence would be a bonus
