Job Summary
Newsday’s Consumer Marketing team is seeking an innovative and strategic Associate Creative Director to lead and elevate our brand through impactful campaigns across digital, print, video, social media and experiential channels. This role blends creative flair and strong copywriting expertise with the ability to mentor and manage a team of talented designers. You’ll collaborate across departments to deliver creative that resonates with our audiences and aligns with our brand voice and business goals.
Essential Duties & Functions
- Lead the concept development, ideation, and execution of integrated marketing campaigns, from ideation to final delivery.
- Write compelling, clear, and on-brand copy for advertising, promotions, digital content, and brand communications.
- Manage and inspire a team of graphic designers, providing creative direction, feedback, and professional development.
- Partner with the Marketing Director and cross-functional teams (Marketing, Editorial, Sales, Product) to ensure brand consistency and innovation across all consumer touchpoints.
- Guide and approve design and copy assets to ensure strategic alignment, clarity, and high-quality execution.
- Oversee project timelines, workflows, and creative resources to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Stay on top of creative trends, media innovations, and audience insights to keep campaigns fresh and relevant.
Essential Job Knowledge & Skills
- 7+ years of experience in a creative role, preferably in media, publishing, or agency environments.
- Strong copywriting background with a portfolio showcasing work across digital, print, video, and brand storytelling.
- 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role with proven experience directing and mentoring creative teams.
- Proficiency in creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- Familiarity with marketing KPIs, consumer insights, and creative performance metrics a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Employees are generally required to work in the office a minimum of three (3) days per week.
Compensation
- The annual salary for this role is $130,000.00, commensurate with experience.
