APCO Brussels is looking to hire an Associate Consultant to join our industry-leading Technology Practice. Our ideal candidate would need to have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in consultancy, in-house government relations roles, European institutions, or within trade associations. You will demonstrate strong expertise in the EU policymaking process with a focus on digital policy, business acumen in particular how politics and regulations influence business, and a foundational network across the Brussels policy landscape. Ideally you will also have an understanding of consultancy business practices and processes, and have a genuine interest in working in a highly impactful fast-paced role, supporting the private sector to make decisions about their government relations’ strategies.

Responsibilities/Experience:
- Have at least 3 years of EU Tech policy experience working in a similar role (e.g. public affairs consultancy, EU institution, in-house role etc.), ideally with a focus on AI, platform regulation, internal market, trade, or industrial policy.
- Have strong enthusiasm for EU politics and knowledge of the EU regulatory environment, specifically EU digital regulation.
- Have excellent English verbal and written communication skills (business writing skills). Showcase good presentation skills and the ability to articulate thoughts clearly.
- Have excellent AI prompt-writing skills and a self-starting attitude for latest technology tools and resources.
- Demonstrates resourcefulness under pressure and has high-standards for executing client deliverables.
- Be able to nurture client relationships, assist the management of client teams, take ownership of client and new business projects
Confidently present and support client meetings and proactively anticipate clients needs.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of effective project management, through clear task prioritization and time management.
- Working with practice leaders to develop and implement the strategy which supports the client’s objectives, including everything from developing public affairs plans to properly scoping and pricing work, as well as managing work activities and resources within agreed upon budgets.
- Showcase ability to work collaboratively within teams with diverse skillsets and experience.
