Job Description

Ares Asia is looking to appoint an Investor Relations Associate to its Investment team to support the capital raising and ongoing management of its credit and equity investment funds in Asia. The individual will be part of a team that raises funds for several investment strategies across the region and manages the relationship with existing and prospective investors. We are seeking a results-oriented individual with significant attention to detail who can balance multiple projects and work closely with the wider team to drive successful execution.


The work will involve working closely with several teams internally, such as finance, investment operations, and relationship management in order to provide our investors with the highest quality service. While the work will be primarily based in Hong Kong, the role will work closely with a number of other offices globally.


The individual will benefit from working in a dynamic, motivated, and highly experienced team of investor relations professionals and have exposure to several other teams in the firm.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in all aspects of the fundraising process including preparation of pitch materials, due diligence materials and project management of fundraises
  • General fundraising and investor request project management, including managing CRM, tracking tasks and ensuring timely execution
  • Work directly with senior investor relations professionals to complete investor questions related to the overall market, our investment strategies and existing private credit funds
  • Perform detailed analysis on our funds, their performance, and the individual portfolio companies
  • Research, compile industry data and understand industry trends and competitive dynamics across the Asian private credit sector
  • Work closely with global investor relations and strategy team on launching new strategies and funds in Asia
  • Support and help project manage Investor Relations events
  • Be part of a team that acts as the crucial and ongoing central point between the investment, asset management, finance, and operations teams, and the funds investors
  • Join senior team in participating in meetings with prospective investors
  • Preparation of Annual Investor Meeting materials
  • Handle other ad-hoc projects

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree with minimum 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably a major in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or other related disciplines
  • 1-2 years in private credit/ private equity fundraising will be looked at advantageously
  • Passion for private credit and equity investment
  • Self-motivated, enjoy challenges and willing to continually learn
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with numbers
  • Advanced MS Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, another Asian language is a plus
  • Excellent editorial and review skills
  • Initiative and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks from different workstreams and produce high quality work
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong team player
