Associate Accountant (1-3 years' experience)

Hybrid - 3 Days Onsite
Monday – Friday, 9am – 5.30pm

In this role, you will work closely with qualified accountants and senior management to provide accounting and financial services for capital market transactions.
This role would suit an ambitious, energetic person keen to progress in a dynamic, rapidly growing business and committed to achieving an ACCA qualification. The final salary will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, and role scope, in line with our objective and gender‑neutral compensation framework.
Key responsibilities:
- Assisting in the preparation of a trial balance and financial statements for a portfolio of Special Purpose Vehicles (“SPVs”);
- Posting journal entries including cash transactions, accruals, prepayments, revenue and expenses; and performing reconciliations;
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts and routine client deliverables;
- Assisting in the preparation and filing of quarterly regulatory returns to the Central Bank of Ireland;
- Assisting in the completion of VAT returns, Corporation Tax returns and iXBRL tagged financial statements;
- Assisting senior accountants and managers throughout the external audit process;
- Liaising professionally with clients, auditors and other third parties providing services to the SPVs;
- Gaining familiarity with a diverse range of capital markets structures and products;
- Liaising and collaborating with colleagues in the client accounting team and across other departments to support process improvement and knowledge sharing;
- Participating in ad hoc administrative tasks and providing general support to the senior members of the team.
Required technical skills, experience and qualifications:
- Graduate in business or finance (ideally 2.1 or above).
- Commitment to pursuing an ACCA qualification in the next three years
- A good understanding of basic accounting debits and credits is required
- Strong organisational skills and an ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Team player, with strong problem-solving skills and a solution-based mindset.
- Conscientious and diligent, with high attention to detail.
- Professional, friendly demeanour with enthusiasm for the role.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements and reports for capital market transactions.
- Support the implementation of accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure accurate and timely financial data collection and analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Provide administrative support for the accounting team, including document management and record-keeping.
- Conduct research and analysis on accounting and financial topics as required.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of financial models and forecasts.
- Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for audits.
- Support the implementation of internal control procedures to safeguard financial assets.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems.
- Currently pursuing or committed to achieving an ACCA qualification.
- A strong academic background in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach to work, with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- A commitment to professional development and a desire to stay updated with industry trends.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant work experience in an accounting or finance role is preferred.
