Responsibilities & QualificationsThe Asst Operations Analyst provides broad support for the Bay Minette plant, including support for departments, employees, visitors, vendors, plant meetings, employee programs, documentation, reporting, procurement activities, and site events. This role requires strong organization, professionalism, confidentiality, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to Bay Minette plant leaders, departments, employees, visitors, vendors, and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate plant and departmental meetings, including scheduling, room setup, catering, attendance, minutes, and follow-up communications.
- Support plant events, employee engagement activities, community involvement, ERG activities, and other site initiatives, including logistics, materials, communications, and vendor coordination.
- Maintain department records, SharePoint content, organizational charts, job descriptions, contact lists, bulletin boards, electronic files, and other official plant information.
- Prepare and update reports, presentations, spreadsheets, correspondence, safety documentation, inspection records, and other routine or ad hoc business materials.
- Support procurement and invoice processes, including purchase requests, purchase order tracking, billing follow-up, renewals, and discrepancy resolution with Finance and department leaders.
- Administer site support processes such as uniforms, lockers, badges, visitor PPE, office supplies, mail distribution, shared spaces, display communications, and office equipment coordination.
- Provide professional support for employees, guests, and visitors, including greeting visitors, issuing badges and PPE, communicating safety expectations, and responding to questions or needs.
- Enter, scan, upload, file, review, and maintain documents and data accurately and confidentially, including sensitive employee, vendor, financial, and business information.
- Identify discrepancies, support timely resolution, improve administrative processes, and contribute to a positive, organized, and professional plant environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
- Three to five years of administrative experience preferred, ideally in a manufacturing, industrial, or fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint; SAP experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, prioritization, accuracy, and follow-up skills.
- Able to work independently, take initiative, solve problems, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Able to manage confidential information appropriately and interact professionally with employees, leaders, vendors, and visitors.

Location Profile
Novelis' newly announced Bay Minette facility will be located 35 miles northeast of Mobile AL and 45 miles west of Pensacola FL and is expected to create approximately 1000 high-paying advanced careers in modern manufacturing. This highly advanced rolling and recycling facility will be the first of its kind. It will primarily serve our customers in the beverage can and automotive markets.
