Position Overview: The Assistant Vice President (AVP), NYC Groceries will support execution of the NYC Groceries initiative by leading multiple workstreams critical to program delivery. This role is responsible for ensuring coordination across parallel efforts and translating program strategy into actionable project plans. 

Primary workstreams include (1) operator procurement and agreement development and (2) site selection and delivery, including real estate transactions, design, construction, and brand consistency across locations. The AVP will work across internal teams and external partners to drive execution and ensure successful delivery. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Workstream leadership and delivery

  • Manage multiple program workstreams from planning through execution 
  • Ensure coordination across parallel efforts and adherence to timelines and deliverables 

Operator procurement and management

  • Lead and support operator selection processes, including RFP development, interviews, and evaluation 
  • Support development and negotiation of operator agreements, including pricing, labor, hiring, and reporting provisions 

Site selection and delivery

  • Coordinate site identification, real estate transactions, and approvals 
  • Manage design, construction, and branding processes across locations 
  • Track capital budgets and delivery timelines 

Cross-functional coordination

  • Work closely with teams across real estate, capital delivery, and industry development 
  • Coordinate with external consultants and vendors 
  • Ensure alignment across stakeholders 

Stakeholder management and communication

  • Support engagement with City Hall and external stakeholders 
  • Prepare presentation materials and briefings for leadership 
  • Facilitate decision-making across teams 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree required 
  • 5+ years of relevant experience managing complex projects, programs, or initiatives involving multiple stakeholders. 
  • Deep understanding of procurement processes from inception to completion.  Experience in real estate or capital delivery a plus.  
  • Proven experience managing and coordinating complex projects and workstreams 
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills 
  • New York City residency is required within 180 days of hire 
Salary Range
$110,000$113,000 USD
