The role

Joining our UK Logistics team based at the heart of NEXT’s supply chain in our flagship warehouse and distribution centre in South Elmsall, you’ll ensure our customers receive the reliable service they expect every time they order.  Working directly alongside our internal warehousing and transport teams, as well as 3rd party parcel delivery partners, you will oversee end-to-end parcel journeys to protect our delivery promises and boost efficiency. Through close collaboration with stakeholders and data experts, you'll deliver actionable insights directly to senior management to improve customer experience and maintain our competitive edge.  NEXT is a fast-paced, dynamic 24/7 operation and the successful candidate will need to work flexibly and react to the key priorities and objectives. From day one, you’ll receive the support and guidance needed to hit the ground running and make a real impact on our growing network.

What you'll take on

  • Manage operational performance, key SLAs, and KPIs across 3rd party parcel partners and warehousing teams.
  • Track the full customer order journey, pinpointing areas to enhance delivery efficiency, elevate customer experience, and optimise costs.
  • Partner with data specialists to deliver commercially-focused insights and recommendations to senior leaders and Directors.
  • Lead regular operational alignment meetings regarding volume forecasts, variances, and system or process updates.
  • Anticipate supply chain bottlenecks or potential disruptions, proactively applying practical solutions to safeguard delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across Distribution, Systems, Transport, and external carrier networks to keep NEXT ahead of market competitors.

What you'll bring

  • Solid background in warehousing, logistics operations, and client or account management.
  • Proven ability to manage, coach, and develop colleagues to reach team targets.
  • High level of comfort with data, using analysis to back key operational decisions and present complex information clearly to varied audiences.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and drive project goals forward.
  • Energetic, self-motivated approach that aligns with NEXT’s core values and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and an organised, solution-focussed mindset
  • Flexible approach; there will be an element of travel between South Elmsall warehouses, Regional Service Centres, and partner hubs outside of normal office hours to react to key objectives and priorities of a 24/7 operation
