JOB SUMMARY
Crystal seeks a part-time exempt (.80 FTE, 10-month) Assistant Technical Theater Manager (ATTM) to instruct MS students in aspects of technical theater, support the upkeep and maintenance of all Middle School theater spaces under the supervision of the Technical Theater Manager (TTM), and provide technical and logistical support for Middle School productions in collaboration with the TTM and Fine Arts Liaison.

- Student Management: Instruction of students to interact safely with all theater systems
- Train and supervise student crew in technical and safety procedures for theater operations and production work related to Middle School Fine Arts productions.
- Have knowledge of best practices and safety protocols when working with middle school students using tools and equipment
- Develop safety protocols around student use of various production-related equipment
- Possess a strong ability to mentor and guide students in their development of technical skills as well as in their development of leadership capabilities
- Commit to working with students and parents from a variety of different backgrounds; be able to see and celebrate the potential in every student
- MS Theater Operations: Support all aspects of Middle School technical theater operations including audio, lighting, scenic construction, and costuming.
- Work directly with Technical Theater Manager to maintain MS space and equipment for productions (not including facility repairs and upgrades)
- Facilitate the planning and execution of scenic, lighting and audio-visual designs for all Middle School productions
- Be present for daytime, evening, and weekend events to provide technical assistance during productions as needed
- Collaborate with Technical Theater Manager to arrange necessary technical support for Middle School productions
- Support Costumer and/or Directors in maintaining and organizing costumes during MS Fine Arts productions (hanging, organizing, steaming, etc.)
- US Theater Operations:
- Assist Technical Theater Manager with Load-In, Installation and Load-Out of technical and scenic equipment for MS Fine Arts or MS Fine Arts-adjacent events in the US Theater as needed.
- Support Technical Theater Manager with major US Theater upkeep and maintenance projects as needed.
- 6-12 Production Assistance:
- Assist Fine Arts Liaison with production management tasks, including but not limited to the following:
- Preparing and maintaining production schedules and calendars
- Documentation of production processes and procedures
- Administration of production management tools (i.e. Asana) under the supervision of Fine Arts Liaison
- Support needs for Fine Arts Festival
- Assist Fine Arts Liaison with production management tasks, including but not limited to the following:
- Curricular (P&D Class):
- Develop curriculum and serve as instructor for 1-2 sections of a Production & Design course under the supervision of the MS Fine Arts Department Chair
- Meet with MS Performing Arts faculty to align curricular learning with the needs of MS productions.
Travel Required
- Consistent travel between the MS and US campus
Required Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience working in theaters in schools, non-profits, or other community settings with multiple constituents
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience instructing students about various theater functions
- Knowledge of Google Suite for communication
- Have experience in the management and maintenance of theatrical spaces in some capacity
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Salary and Benefits
This is an exempt, part-time, benefits-eligible, 10-month administrative staff position. The annual salary for this position at .80 FTE is $71,000-$74,000.
