Job Description

The Role

Old Mutual is a leading financial services provider and we require a Group Assurance Product (GAP) Assistant Relationship Consultant. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the GAP Relationship Consultant to manage and service GAP clients.

Minimum requirements:

• Namibian citizen;
• A minimum qualification of Grade 12 with a minimum of 25 points;
• A relevant business, commerce or legal qualification;
• Approximately 1 to 2 years’ experience in the insurance industry would be an advantage;
• A sound knowledge of and experience in the retirement fund and/or the insurance industry would be an advantage;
• Experience in providing administrative services;
• An assertive self-starter;
• Excellent organisational, communication, and administrative skills;
• Ability to liaise effectively and build a good rapport with colleagues and clients;
• Strong computer skills with excellent typing speed;
• Detail-oriented, punctual, sincere, and high work ethics;
• Excellent conflict handling skills;
• The ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure; and
• Fluent in English, any other indigenous language would be an advantage.

Duties and responsibilities include:
• Assist the Relationship Consultant in managing the GAP client portfolio;
• Assist the Relationship Consultant to prepare GAP Quotations, Annual Rate Reviews and Medicals;
• Assist the Relationship Consultant to manage and conduct GAP product training with intermediaries;
• Assist the Relationship Consultant to manage and conduct meetings with key stakeholders;
• Assist the GAP Relationship Consultant in resolving client queries;
• Prepare agenda packs, presentations and minutes for GAP meetings with clients/intermediaries and other key stakeholder’s meetings;
• Collate, collect and submit GAP monthly reports and data;
• Track and report on GAP tasks, projects, and queries;
• Schedule appointments;
• Provide quality service and client care;
• Execute all procedures to ensure immediate operational excellence in response to requirements and production standards.

Performs routine administrative duties such as drafting correspondences, scheduling appointments, organising and maintaining data, as well as assisting internal and external stakeholders

ResponsibilitiesAdministration

Produce, update, and provide best practice support on a wide range of Microsoft documents, databases, and other departmental systems.

Business Meetings/Events Arrangement

Schedule appointments, make arrangements for meetings and conferences, and organize travel plans, following instructions to ensure more senior colleagues or a senior executive make the best use of their time.

Correspondence

Prepare routine letters, email, minutes of meetings, and reports for approval by more senior colleagues or a senior executive.

Document Preparation

Prepare moderately complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices, such as standard office software. Also responsible for gathering and summarizing data for reports.

Work Scheduling and Allocation

Design own monthly schedule and, if necessary, assign work to others in order to speed up office workflow and ensure high-priority tasks get done.

Data Collection and Analysis

Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.

Insights and Reporting

Extract and combine data to generate standard reports.

Budgeting

Monitor and analyze data using budgeting systems and protocols.

Personal Capability Building

Develop and maintain excellent process or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.

Operational Compliance

Develop working knowledge of the organization's policies and procedures and of regulatory codes and codes of conduct relevant to own work, adhering to mandatory procedures to ensure own work is undertaken to the required standards.

Procurement

Support others by carrying out simple procurement tasks. Involves following established procedures.
