Job Responsibilities:
  • 10 years in quality field and 5 years in leadership role.
  • Proficient in performing time/motion studies and interpreting workload data to optimize team performance.
  • Experienced in leading diverse teams within automotive manufacturing environments, with a strong focus on lean principles, quality standards, and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement on the production floor.
  • Strong understanding of quality inspection processes and measurement tools.
  • Familiarity with quality systems and standards (e.g., ISO, IATF, Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Ability to read technical drawings and interpret specifications.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and quality data systems

DUTIES:
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of shop floor Quality team with support of other departmental leadership.
  • Coaching and mentoring quality team members at all functional levels on the shop floor.
  • Conduct round table or skip level meetings bi-monthly with quality technicians, quality auditors and area leads to keep high morale of the team and address any shop floor concerns.
  • Ensure all quality inspections and tests are performed in accordance with work instructions and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
  • Conduct time studies on quality inspection and testing tasks to evaluate efficiency and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze technician workload distribution; adjust schedules and assignments to ensure balanced coverage across shifts, lines, and product types.
  • Provide technical support to technicians and production personnel on quality issues, including first-article inspections, in-process checks, and final inspections.
  • Monitor compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), control plans, and customer specifications.
  • Assist in non-conformance investigations and root cause analysis, support corrective and preventive action implementation.
  • Develop and deliver on-the-job training for quality technicians on inspection methods, tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges), and quality systems.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, MP&L and maintenance teams to resolve quality concerns and prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain and review quality records, inspection logs, and audit findings.
  • Support internal and external audits, including preparation of documentation and corrective action responses.
  • Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement on the shop floor.
  • Provide reports as required by the Quality Manager or other departments
  • Participate in Continual Improvement activities.
  • Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System and company policies.
  • Follows and supports CBAMS and Magna's operating principles, including:

  • Supports efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey.
  • Conducts performance evaluations on employees that are tied to plant and company goals and provides regular feedback on work performance, utilizing individual corrective action plans if necessary and discusses such action with appropriate personnel.
  • Ensures all documentation is maintained, including employee documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
