Location of Position
This position is based in our NYC, Buffalo, or Wappinger Falls office locations with a commitment to a minimum of 2 in-office days.

Position Summary
This position will be an important part of the Project Management team and will support various project managers to develop opportunities from site inception to commercial operation. The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will perform and sometimes lead tasks to secure site control for early phase projects, to coordinate permitting and engineering efforts during development, and to track items related to engineering, permitting, site control, interconnection, procurement, and construction, under the supervision of a Project Manager. The APM will provide specific support in permitting projects in all stages of development, including permit analysis for projects being reviewed by the Business Development team. The APM will work directly with outside engineering firms to identify Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) and prepare permitting matrices, schedules, and budgets.
The APM will assist in identifying, scheduling, budgeting, tracking, and securing all approvals on projects across the project development pipeline with support from the internal project management and development teams and outside legal and engineering firms.
The APM will assist with the development of standalone solar projects but will need specific experience in the development of battery storage projects.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist in the development efforts of assigned projects to ensure all engineering, permits, and development activities are completed in a coordinated and cost-effective manner.
- Assist specifically in the development of battery storage projects.
- Manage tasks identified by various Project Managers, in particular permitting tasks, and coordinate with appropriate contractors, development team members, and outside stakeholders to accomplish goals.
- Support early-stage development by completing various tasks within the Development Group, including attending site visits.
- Support the preparation of early-stage project budgets and schedules and maintain ongoing updates for such items.
- Assure permit compliance through engineering design review and construction.
- Conduct project meetings within small groups and formulate monthly progress reports.
- Attend occasional public meetings, as required.
- Attend occasional site visits throughout the development process.

Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering or environmental sciences.
Technical Skills and Experience
- Experience in the development and assessment of solar projects with an emphasis on battery storage projects.
- Experience with solar project permitting, interconnection, and engineering.
- Experience with regulatory agencies.
- Experience modeling and managing data reporting in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Project.
- Ability to research, qualify, and present information on proposed solar sites.
