As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing site development work, schedules and budgets necessary to deliver finished lots to Construction. You will also manage site maintenance and provide support to Construction throughout the homebuilding process. This position will work primarily in the field.
Responsibilities:
- Review construction plans during design process and provide feedback on layout, constructability, and cost effectiveness
- Manage site contractors and consultants to complete site work according to the approved construction plans and best land development practices
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements throughout the development process
- Coordinate with dry utility companies to design utility layout, review and execute easement documents, schedule and oversee installation of utilities to deliver finished lots on schedule.
Bid, contract, and manage on-lot site work related to delivery of finished homes to support Van Metre Construction - Manage maintenance of sites during home construction through bond release. Provide oversight and customer service during winter weather events
- Manage dirt movement and dirt balance across all projects to maximize efficiency and reduce cost to Van Metre
- Manage and maintain project budgets. Review and process invoices for payment in a timely manner
- Support the Land Development Coordinator throughout the bond release and reduction process. Attend bond release and bond reduction inspections. Engage contractors and manage completion of punch work in a timely manner according to standards and specifications
Qualifications / Required Skills and Expertise:
- Field experience and experience managing sitework contractors
- Experience with specialty type infrastructure projects (Pump Stations, Treatment Facilities, Road Projects, etc) preferred
- Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal Standards, Specifications, and Regulations
- Site contracting background
- Budgeting and Project Management Experience

Compensation and Benefits information: Van Metre offers excellent benefits, and a work environment that fosters and rewards excellence. - Base Salary: $60,000-$95,000 annually (Pay is commensurate with experience, education, training, and skills)
