Assistant Professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering

Position Description

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Seattle University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in August 2027. We seek candidates with expertise in computer engineering, particularly areas such as VLSI, robotics hardware and control, and machine learning, as well as a strong interest in innovative and effective teaching practices.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring students; an established record of research with enthusiasm for involving undergraduate students; an interest in pursuing external funding; and a genuine desire to contribute to the mission of Seattle University. Responsibilities will include teaching, including laboratory courses; maintaining an active research program that provides meaningful opportunities for undergraduate participation; and contributing service to the university.

Requirements: Ph.D. in electrical or computer engineering or closely related field.

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department is housed within the College of Science and Engineering. Compensation at a Glance:

$92,000-$102,000

Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting.  The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate’s gender or any other protected status.
