Under the direction of an Operations Manager, the Assistant Operations Manager role is responsible for leading and developing team leads and front-line team members to achieve business key performance indicators in the Distribution Center. They ensure a healthy and safe work environment, drive team performance, facilitate planning and communication, foster a positive team dynamic with open feedback channels, and adapt to evolving business needs while prioritizing customer and employee experience. The Assistant Operations Manager plays a crucial role in coordinating teams, executing the day-to-day tasks, mentoring, and training staff, executing team initiatives, and enhancing standard work methodologies across shifts.

Responsibilities and Duties
Operational Efficacy:
- Ensure that all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are on target for the operation, such as warehouse daily volume plans, on-time shipments, shipment defects, aged tasks, production levels per hour, and cost per order line.
- Achieve a successful daily operation and ensure all Service Level Agreements (SLA) are met.
Team Management and Development:
- Mentor, train, and develop Leads and other team members for career progression and learning.
- Build a positive team dynamic that encourages all employees in the FC to provide feedback and motivate change within the facility.
- Adapt to the constantly evolving business, and stay focused on the customer experience.
Process improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement to safety, quality, cost, and delivery while growing and expanding capabilities within the process.
Experience and Skill requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years related experience managing in a Distribution Center
- Experience in leading others in an operational environment; demonstrated skills necessary to manage front-line staff.
- Effective communicator and leader for employees, direct reports, cross-functional teams, and leadership.
- Experience with driving quality initiatives and warehouse management systems
- Proven track record to quickly adapt and drive the right results using data; metrics-driven mentality
- Must be flexible to work weekends OR nights
- Proficiency with Google Suite or MS Office tools
- WMS experience
- Bias for action and urgency
- Bi-lingual Spanish is preferred
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing priorities

Compensation
This is an exempt salaried role with a base salary of $70,000 - $80,000 depending on experience, with a total compensation opportunity of $74,600 - $ 85,200 annually.
