Reporting To-Manufacturing Head

Location-Uno Minda Kyoraku Limited -Ahmedabad -Gujarat

Job Purpose

To ensure effective maintenance, development, qualification, and continuous improvement of assembly lines, jigs, fixtures, gauges, testing equipment, and special purpose machines (SPMs). The role is responsible for supporting production through preventive maintenance, new line setup, process validation, facility establishment, and implementation of productivity and quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

1. PE Maintenance Activities    

•Ensure Quality approval after preventive, predictive, or breakdown maintenance activities as per defined systems and procedures.

•Execute preventive maintenance activities as per the approved maintenance plan.

•Implement past learnings, horizontal deployment (HD), poka-yoke, and best practices across all existing lines and SPMs.

•Carry out routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and breakdown response activities.

•Ensure maintenance and calibration of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and testing systems.

•Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inspection checks to ensure smooth operation of production lines and PE equipment.

•Ensure machine availability and minimize downtime through effective maintenance practices.

•Coordinate with Production for maintenance of assembly lines, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and related equipment.

2. In-House Jig, Fixture, Gauge Manufacturing & Assembly Line Setup

•Review micro plans for new line setup and facility development activities as per project timelines and MDS requirements.

•Review and monitor material planning for assembly lines and ensure timely procurement.

•Ensure assembly line installation and setup as per approved layouts and process requirements.

•Coordinate development and qualification of in-house testing equipment and fixtures.

•Ensure facility readiness for electronics assembly processes and secondary operations.

•Support commissioning and handover of new manufacturing lines.

3. Process Qualification & Validation

•Conduct process qualification and capability studies as defined in the Control Plan.

•Perform validation and qualification of End-of-Line (EOL) testing systems and final testing machines.

•Ensure operator training, skill certification, and qualification prior to production release.

•Establish, qualify, and validate backup lines, SPMs, and auxiliary equipment.

•Support process audits, capability improvement, and compliance activities.

•Ensure readiness of manufacturing processes before SOP (Start of Production).

4. Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence

•Lead initiatives for cycle time reduction during line setup and manufacturing operations.

•Ensure incorporation of organizational learnings, One Point Lessons (OPL), Tokai Horizontal Standards (TKHS), and poka-yoke improvements.

•Promote and implement Industry 4.0 / IoT concepts in manufacturing processes.

•Drive productivity, quality, safety, and cost improvement projects.

•Participate in Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement activities.

•Analyze process losses and implement corrective and preventive actions.

5. Quality & Compliance

•Review line trial and pilot production results and ensure closure of identified actions.

•Ensure timely closure of Quality Assurance Verification (QAV) audit observations.

•Conduct LVPT (Low Voltage Performance Testing) and HVPT (High Voltage Performance Testing) as per the approved schedule.

•Maintain process documentation, qualification records, and maintenance logs.

•Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and customer-specific requirements

6 Required Qualifications

        B.E. / B. Tech in Mechanical

        7-10+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing
