The US Macro Markets Legal Team provides legal support to the US Macro Markets & Sales teams.  Among other topics, this Legal Team provides primary legal coverage in the drafting and negotiation of documentation relating to derivatives (including ISDA Master Agreements, futures documentation, clearing documentation and collateral documentation).

 

As a Vice President, Assistant General Counsel in the US Macro Markets Legal Team, you will be responsible for drafting, negotiating and advising on the full range of documentation relating to derivatives (including ISDA Master Agreements, futures documentation, OTC and treasury clearing documentation and collateral documentation) and will advise the front office on structuring foreign exchange and derivatives transactions and on regulatory requirements relating to derivatives. You will join a successful, well established team of professionals, and will be provided with extensive training upon joining followed by continued on the job support when needed.

Job responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate trading documentation for bilateral and cleared derivatives activity, including related confirmations
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to front office, sales/trading and product teams on structuring FX and derivatives transactions
  • Advise on regulatory requirements relating to bilateral and cleared derivatives products 
  • Analyze netting and collateral enforceability opinions

 

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Law degree or educational equivalent required. Attorney candidates must be in compliance with all relevant licensing requirements including the requirements of the jurisdiction where the role will be located prior to commencement of employment.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney in a law firm or corporate law environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong business judgment and strategic thinking.
  • Proven ability to independently identify issues, analyze problems and provide viable solutions.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, organizational and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure, handle deadlines, and manage multiple tasks in a high performance environment.
  • Ability to follow up on assignments in a timely manner and exercise good business judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build consensus across a global matrix organization.
  • Team player, confident and proactive

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience drafting and negotiating contracts for derivatives or other financial products is preferred
