Job Summary:
The Finance Controller will oversee all financial
operations, ensuring strong financial control, regulatory compliance, and
optimized performance of solar projects and corporate entities. This role
involves managing project finance, accounting, audits, budgeting, and financial
reporting, while partnering with internal and external stakeholders including
investors, lenders, and regulators.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee
preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in
compliance with Indian Accounting standards/IND-AS.
- Consolidate
financials across project SPVs and the holding company.
- Ensure
accuracy and integrity of financial data through robust internal controls.
- Prepare
management reports, variance analysis, and financial dashboards for
leadership and board review.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead
annual budgeting and periodic forecasting exercises for corporate and
project entities.
- Monitor
financial performance against budget and report deviations with corrective
actions.
3. Project Finance & Treasury
- Support
structuring, negotiation, and financial closure of project financing
(debt/equity).
- Manage
lender relations, compliance with loan covenants, and disbursement
schedules.
- Oversee
cash flow management, fund allocation across SPVs, and working capital
optimization.
- Manage
hedging strategies, interest rate risk, and currency exposure where
applicable.
4. Audit, Compliance & Controls
- Liaise
with statutory auditors, internal auditors, and tax advisors.
- Ensure
compliance with corporate, tax, and regulatory requirements (Companies
Act, GST, Income Tax, etc.).
- Implement
and monitor internal controls and accounting policies.
5. Cost & Asset Management
- Track
and control project CAPEX and OPEX.
- Maintain
fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
- Support
procurement and EPC teams with financial due diligence and cost control
mechanisms.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Chartered Accountant CA/MBA (Finance).
- Experience: 1–3 years in finance, accounting, and controlling — with at least 2 years
in the renewable energy / power / infrastructure sector.
- Strong
understanding of project finance, SPV structures, and regulatory
frameworks.
- Hands-on
experience with ERP systems (SAP, and Tally).
- Proven
track record in leading finance teams and managing multi-entity
consolidations.
- Strong
analytical and understanding of financial modelling.
- Excellent
knowledge of accounting standards and financial regulations.
- Leadership
and team management capability.
- Strong
stakeholder management (banks, investors, auditors).
Skills Required
- Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance
- 1-3 years of experience in finance, accounting, and controlling
- At least 2 years of experience in renewable energy, power, or infrastructure
- Strong understanding of project finance, SPV structures, and regulatory frameworks
- Hands-on experience with SAP and Tally
