About the Role
• To exhibit a fair and consistent management approach which follows the principles outlined in The Magna Employee's Charter to ensure a satisfied and productive employee workplace.• To persuade and support the following of Company policies and business objectives in the daily operations of the Company.• To lead and participate in continuous improvement activities directly related to creating a safe working environment at Norplas.• To manage the coordination of environmental, health and safety objectives which provide for a safe and healthful workplace for all Norplas employees. • To respond to Agency (EPA, BWC, OSHA, etc.) requirements, correspondences, and requests in a professional, respectful, and expeditious manner.• Performs inspections that include safety elements
Your Responsibilities
• Manage environmental, health, safety and ergonomic activities through strong leadership, communication, motivation and direction of safety and environmental staff.• Ensure that every Norplas Team Member has a safe work environment, free from recognized hazards. Promote and encourage safe work habits and the immediate communication of unsafe conditions. • Understand, support, implement, and enforce compliance to all company and governmental agencies safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations. • Actively prevent pollution/reduce waste to support the attainment of established goals. Maintain an understanding and instruct employees on how their specific job can affect the environment or the health and safety of themselves or others. • Coordinate safety training for all Norplas employees in the areas of Safety and Environmental.• Investigate and maintain records for all work-related injuries and/or illnesses, provide statistical analysis, and assist department management in the development of effective health and safety countermeasures to continuously improve safety objectives.
Who we are looking for
• Minimum five years Health, Safety, and Environmental experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.• Experience managing environmental permits and programs• Experience in managing Title V permit• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills as well as strong organizational skills.• Strong computer skills.
Your preferred qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a related field of study preferred.• Certified Hazardous Materials Manager• Certified Industrial Hygienist or• Certified Safety Professional
