The Assistant Editor plays a critical role in supporting the editorial team in the creation and distribution of engaging content across multiple platforms, including articles, videos, podcasts, and social media. In this role, you’ll research, write, and edit daily content, conduct interviews with key opinion leaders, and contribute to multimedia projects that inform and inspire our audiences. You’ll also collaborate with team members to promote content, cover industry events, and ensure timely delivery of assignments.
This is more than just editing — it’s about bringing stories to life, connecting with thought leaders, and helping deliver valuable content that drives impact in healthcare and life sciences.
What You’ll Do- Create and edit content: Research, write, and edit articles, Q&A pieces, and quick-turn news stories for publication.
- Support multimedia projects: Conduct and edit video interviews and podcasts with key opinion leaders, ensuring professional quality.
- Engage audiences: Use social media platforms to share content, increase engagement, and grow reach.
- Cover industry events: Attend and report on conferences, meetings, and networking events, producing timely coverage and original stories.
- Collaborate with editorial team: Work closely with editors, writers, and producers to meet daily deadlines and support content initiatives.
- Apply SEO best practices: Optimize content for search engines to maximize visibility and traffic.
- Prioritize tasks: Manage daily assignments with guidance from your manager, ensuring quality and timeliness.
- You’re a strong, adaptable writer with a knack for quick, clear, and accurate content creation.
- You have an eye for compelling stories and the ability to connect with industry thought leaders.
- You’re comfortable working across text, video, audio, and social channels.
- You thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Contribute to high-impact healthcare communications that improve patient care.
- Gain hands-on experience across multiple editorial and multimedia formats.
- Collaborate with industry leaders and attend key conferences and events.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field preferred
Experience:
- 6 months–1 year of writing, editing, or publishing experience (entry-level candidates will be considered)
- Experience with video filming, editing, and formatting preferred
- Familiarity with social media content promotion and audience engagement
Skills:
- Excellent writing and editing abilities
- Ability to conduct interviews and build rapport with key opinion leaders
- Basic understanding of SEO principles
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with video editing software a plus
