Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

Covenant Village is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and collaborative Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to help lead our nursing team and support the delivery of exceptional resident care.

The Assistant Director of Nursing serves as a key member of the nursing leadership team, partnering with the Director of Nursing to oversee clinical operations, regulatory compliance, staff development, and quality improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for a nursing leader who is passionate about supporting staff, improving resident outcomes, and fostering a culture of excellence.

Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Nursing assists in the planning, coordination, and oversight of nursing services to ensure high-quality resident care and regulatory compliance. The ADON provides clinical leadership, supports daily nursing operations, assists with employee development, and serves as a resource to nursing staff, residents, and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Nursing with the overall management of nursing services and clinical operations.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to nursing staff.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and organizational policies.
  • Assist in hiring, onboarding, training, and evaluating nursing employees.
  • Monitor quality measures, clinical outcomes, and resident satisfaction initiatives.
  • Support staffing coordination and help maintain appropriate staffing levels.
  • Participate in survey preparation, audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Assist with infection prevention, risk management, and resident safety programs.
  • Investigate concerns and collaborate on corrective actions when needed.
  • Promote effective communication among residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Serve as the Director of Nursing in their absence, as assigned.

QualificationsRequired
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Minimum of three years of nursing experience.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience in healthcare.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing practices, regulations, and long-term care operations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
  • Long-term care or skilled nursing experience.
  • Experience in a charge nurse, nurse manager, nurse supervisor, unit manager, or assistant director role.
