Wood Rodgers is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our accounting team.  The successful candidate will work with and manage our existing payroll and accounts payable staff to perform a variety of duties, including the accurate processing of payroll, health benefits, timesheet review, GL coding, journal entries, budgeting, monthly close, 3rd party audits, reviews, and internal controls.  We have over 300 employees in 9 offices throughout California and Nevada.

A day in the life as a Wood Rodgers’ Assistant Controller:
While there is no typical day in accounting, there are a few things that you can count on:

• Review, manage, and assist payroll and accounts payable specialists.
• Fixed asset reporting and depreciation
• Coordinate month-end close and 3rd party audits/reviews.
• Assist with other accounting activities.

The ante:

• A minimum of 6 years’ experience handling essential accounting functions.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

Things we’d like to see:

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices
• Proficient in using accounting software and spreadsheets (VLOOKUP and SUMIF Functions).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
