Job Summary

The Assembly Manager provides leadership and operational oversight for the Assembly Department, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements. The role is responsible for leading employees, coordinating production schedules, managing workflow and inventory, and promoting continuous improvement to ensure safe, efficient, and timely delivery of quality products.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure compliance with ISO-9001 and other regulatory requirements as well as all company safety policies, procedures.
  • Interview, select, onboard, train, coach, develop, evaluate, and administer corrective actions for assembly employees.
  • Schedule and track production using the company's production management software and keep systems up to date.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Control, Purchasing, Customer Service, and other departments to support production requirements.
  • Communicate with Customer Service regarding delivery schedules, priority orders, and production status.
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs), including safety, quality, productivity, inventory accuracy, and on-time delivery.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to support production, troubleshooting, and process improvement activities.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and workflow.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Monitor inventory levels of components, packaging materials, and production supplies to prevent shortages.
  • Analyze and repair, or coordinate repair of, returned products as required.
  • Document and maintain production processes, work instructions, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Partner with Quality Control to ensure proper calibration and maintenance of measurement tools and gauges.
  • Support and assist production activities as needed, including process development, assembly, testing, packaging, and engraving operations.
  • Perform duties with minimal supervision and exercise sound, independent judgment in resolving operational issues.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university required
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing or production environment required
  • Demonstrated understanding of pressure regulation, flow control, calibration, and mechanical assembly processes
  • Must be able to read and interpret technical standards, engineering drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing documentation
  • Must have a working knowledge of CAD software and the ability to review engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft applications including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word as well as manufacturing ERP and production management applications

Language Skills:

  • Must be fluent in English and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills 

Mathematical Skills:

  • Must possess advanced mathematical skills, including measuring, calibration verification, pressure calculations, and use of precision measuring equipment.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to carry out detailed written and verbal instructions and exercise sound judgment in resolving operational issues.

Physical Demands:

  • Must frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • When performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to handle, operate, or feel objects, tools, and controls, talk and hear
  • Employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to handle several tasks at the same time under time constraints

Work Environment:

  • The Riverdale Assembly Manager works throughout the facility and may be exposed to high-pressure gas systems, moving mechanical parts, and occasional vibration.
  • Noise level is moderate for a manufacturing facility
