About the Role
Redhorse transforms how the government uses data and technology. We are seeking a dedicated Senior Project Manager to join our team and contribute to the forefront of AI, deep learning, and autonomous capabilities within the Department of War (DoW). Working closely with the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO), you will design, build, and integrate AI/ML solutions focused on autonomous warfare, making a significant impact on national security.
Key responsibilities
- Autonomous Warfare: Support the implementation of CDAO's Enterprise capabilities for autonomous systems development to include the development and integration of AI/ML solutions with existing government IT infrastructure and systems, focusing on improving autonomous warfare capabilities.
- System Design & Prototyping: Independently translate concepts into preliminary/detailed designs and working prototypes. Oversee modeling and simulation (M&S) contract and project execution to augment lean team capacity while managing design risks and configuration.
- Lifecycle Management & Communications: Independently manage all project lifecycle stages (requirements gathering, schedules, execution). Effectively communicate and distill complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strategic Planning & IT Oversight: Direct long-range project planning and cross-functional IT operations. Oversee major program architectures (network, database, systems) and advise senior leaders on strategic milestones and industry solutions.
- Data Security and Management: Oversee data processing systems from inception to conclusion. Serve as a technical liaison to analyze user needs, convert functional requirements into technical specifications, maintain detailed documentation and metrics, understand data management and security policies, and communicate and distill complex concepts for government stakeholders.
- Acquisitions & Contract Support: Provide technical support for CDAO acquisitions (market research, statements of work, contract administration, etc). Navigate DoW acquisition and budget execution cycles to drive projects forward and manage contract close-outs.
- AI/ML Development: Develop and maintain scalable and robust AI/ML systems compliant with government cybersecurity policies. Stay current with the latest AI/ML research and technologies, assessing their potential application in government projects.
- Collaboration: Contribute to cross-functional team efforts on CDAO’s large language model task force. Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality product delivery. Communicate complex AI/ML concepts and results clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Standards Compliance: Develop and maintain scalable and robust AI/ML systems compliant with government cybersecurity policies. Apply National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines for DoW information assurance, including NIST 800-37 and NIST 800-53.
- Cybersecurity (RMF) & Compliance: Apply DoW Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST standards to identify, implement, and manage cybersecurity controls, proactively escalating implementation risks to government leads.
