Job Summary:

The Security Officer is responsible for helping maintain a safe and secure environment at assigned facilities. Officers patrol designated areas, monitor activities, provide assistance to employees and visitors, enforce applicable facility policies, respond to security and safety concerns, and document incidents as required. Accurate, timely, and complete written documentation is an essential function of this position. Security Officers are expected to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor and use communication and de-escalation whenever reasonably possible. This position works under the direction of Security Services supervision and performs duties according to company policies, General Orders, and Site-Specific Post Orders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a visible and professional security presence at assigned locations.
  • Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols of assigned facilities and property.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, unsafe conditions, policy violations, and other security concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, parking areas, common areas, and other designated locations.
  • Assist with access control and verify authorization to enter restricted areas when required.
  • Provide professional assistance, information, and directions to employees, clients, visitors, and guests.
  • Respond promptly to disturbances, alarms, emergencies, safety concerns, and requests for security assistance.
  • Use verbal communication and approved de-escalation techniques to resolve or reduce conflicts whenever reasonably possible.
  • Enforce organizational and facility policies in a professional, respectful, and consistent manner.
  • Contact and coordinate with law enforcement, fire departments, emergency medical services, or other emergency personnel when necessary.
  • Assist facility personnel during emergency situations, evacuations, severe weather, and other emergency procedures.
  • Maintain a complete Security Activity Report for each assigned shift and accurately document patrols, observations, contacts, and significant activities.
  • Prepare clear, objective, chronological, and detailed Incident Reports for security, safety, criminal, medical, disruptive, suspicious, or other reportable events.
  • Include accurate names, times, locations, observations, actions taken, persons notified, and other relevant facts in required reports and records.
  • Submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner and complete corrections or supplemental information when directed by a supervisor.
  • Immediately report serious or unusual incidents through the established chain of command.
  • Maintain assigned security equipment and promptly report damaged, missing, or malfunctioning equipment.
  • Follow company General Orders and all Site-Specific Post Orders for the assigned location.
  • Attend required training, meetings, and briefings.
  • Perform other security-related duties as assigned.
  • Follow all policies and procedures set forth by Echota Security Services. 
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

License/Certifications:

  • Current CLEET Security License (Armed) appropriate to an available assignment, or ability to become licensed before performing licensed security duties.
  • Armed assignments require the appropriate current Armed CLEET Security License and company authorization.
  • CPR, BLS, First Aid, or AED certification, or ability to become certified.

Experience:

  • Previous security, law enforcement, military, corrections, or customer service experience is a plus.
  • Prior experience preparing incident reports, security reports, law-enforcement reports, or comparable professional documentation preferred but not required.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during stressful or emergency situations.
  • Strong observational, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare clear, accurate, objective, and sufficiently detailed security reports and other required documentation.
  • Ability to accurately record names, dates, times, locations, descriptions, observations, and actions taken.
  • Basic computer and data-entry skills sufficient to complete electronic reports, forms, and other required records.
  • Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with employees, clients, visitors, and members of the public.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, General Orders, and Site-Specific Post Orders.
  • Dependable, punctual, and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
  • Follow all guidelines, regulations, standards, and Federal state and tribal policies. 
  • Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s license and a clear background check. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform the physical functions necessary for the assigned security post, with reasonable accommodation as applicable.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen.

Work Environment:

  • Office-based behavioral health clinic.
  • Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts when required.
  • Frequent interaction with clients, medical providers, and external partners.
  • Requires discretion, empathy, and professionalism when handling sensitive information.

This position may have care of or contact with Indian children.
