Security Alliance is seeking highly responsible and vigilant Armed Security Officers to ensure consistent post coverage and enforce all security protocols in alignment with General and Special Guard Orders. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a secure environment in accordance with the standards of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), DoD 5220.22-M.
Overview:
The Armed Security Officer is entrusted with upholding the safety and security of the facility by maintaining a constant state of readiness and strict adherence to established protocols. Before assuming duties, candidates must meet all mandatory certification, licensing, and physical fitness requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain assigned post coverage in accordance with General and Special Guard Orders.
- Enforce all site security procedures, ensuring compliance with established policies and regulations.
- Uphold professional standards of conduct, integrity, and vigilance at all times.
- Maintain active certifications and licenses as required for armed security personnel.
- Adhere to all duty time limits, with no unauthorized extensions unless explicitly approved by the Facility Security Officer (FSO).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Age: Minimum of 21 years old.
- Legal Record: No Class A or B misdemeanors, felony convictions, or Title 18 (Domestic Violence) convictions.
- Licensing:
- Maintain Texas Department of Public Safety/Private Security Bureau Commissioned Security Officer (SA/STG) license.
- Valid Texas driver’s license.
- Background & Clearance:
- Must have a minimum interim secret clearance as per NISPOM 5220.22-M standards.
- Honorable service if a veteran. (DD-214)
- Health and Substance Requirements:
- Drug and alcohol-free (free from mind-altering substances).
- Tobacco-free on customer property.
- Pass an annual mental health assessment to verify emotional fitness for carrying a firearm.
- Meet physical fitness standards as per an annual assessment.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Language and Communication:
- Demonstrated proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, communication).
- Basic computer skills, especially familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Certification:
- Valid First Aid, CPR, and AED certification (must be obtained within 90 days of assignment).
- Training and certification in all intermediate weapons issued and restraints carried to a national standard.
- Annual requalification for all firearms with live fire or simulation training.
Training and Certification Requirements:
- Guards must complete a basic or advanced security guard training/certification program recognized by the State of Texas.
- Successful annual requalification with all issued firearms.
