As an Architect in the Gaming and Hospitality Market with 4+ years of experience you’ll play a key role in supporting the firm and shaping projects that make a difference—from concept through completion. You’ll collaborate with talented teammates, contribute your expertise, and help us deliver thoughtful, high-quality solutions for those we serve.

What You’ll Do 

  • Participate and contribute in design and project management with design discussions, idea generation, collaboration, and design work in drawing, modeling and 3D image formats
  • Creation of graphical images. Design and detailing in Revit
  • Attend project and client meetings with design professionals for both business development opportunities and projects under contract

We are seeking a strong Architect with a minimum of 4 years of experience. Experience in commercial, hospitality, and residential design strongly preferred. Candidates are required to be proficient in AutoCAD and Revit. The ideal candidates must have strong communication, writing, design and production skills. They must be able to complete design/documentation and construction administration. As well as experience in building codes and their applications.

  • Entry to Mid-Level position and applies to individuals with a minimum of 4 years' experience in the practice of architecture
  • Completion of accredited professional degree program with a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in architecture, or equivalent in appropriate education and experience.
  • Ability to become a registered architect is a plus
  • Demonstrate a high degree of aptitude in critical, creative thinking associated with design and the design process
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of architectural specifications, international building codes, life safety code and current ADA requirements
  • Qualifications/Proficiencies consistent with mid-level experience for a motivated and creative professional; able to design with inherent understanding of building systems; capable of designing projects for high quality public/institutional clients in Gaming + Hospitality

What will make you stand out 

  • Self-motivated and able to problem-solve independently. Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and Google SketchUp. Working knowledge of AutoCAD is beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of programming, planning, and building performance is beneficial

This position is primarily performed in an office or hybrid environment and may require travel to project sites, other Shive-Hattery office locations or to meet with clients. A full clean driver’s license is required. The role involves sitting, standing, and working at a computer for extended periods. May also require lifting light to medium weight objects of up to 50 lbs., the wearing of PPE and navigating active construction sites. Skills Required

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in the practice of architecture
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Completion of an accredited professional degree in architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) or equivalent
  • Ability to perform design, documentation, and construction administration
  • Comprehensive understanding of architectural specifications, building codes, life safety code, and ADA requirements
