Edwards Lifesciences is expanding its global technology capabilities with the launch of a new IT Innovation Hub in Pune, India. The Hub strengthens the technology foundation that supports our business worldwide, working in close partnership with teams across regions to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions at scale. Designed as a long-term investment, the Pune Hub will advance newer digital capabilities such as automation, data, AI, and cloud, and will include roles spanning end user services, application development, and enterprise platform teams. Together, these teams will help Edwards operate more efficiently and accelerate innovation in support of our mission of advancing patient care.
As Edwards accelerates its AI-driven transformation, we are seeking an Architect, IT Solutions to serve as the enterprise technical authority for our two most strategic agentic AI platforms — Microsoft Copilot (M365 Copilot, Copilot Studio) and Moveworks. This is a multi-faceted architecture role that spans platform leadership, integration design, and end-to-end solution architecture. You will define how these platforms are built, extended, integrated, and governed across the enterprise.
This role works alongside our existing Azure infrastructure architect and complements cloud expertise with deep, platform-specific technical authority. If you thrive at the intersection of enterprise architecture, applied AI, and business-facing delivery — and want to shape how a global lifescience company adopts agentic AI at scale — this is the role for you.
How you’ll make an impact:
Platform Architecture Leadership — Copilot & Moveworks
- Own the enterprise platform architecture for Microsoft Copilot (M365 Copilot, Copilot Studio) and Moveworks — serving as the definitive technical authority on capabilities, extensibility, and best practices.
- Define the ecosystem blueprint, platform standards, extensibility patterns, and long-term technical roadmap for both platforms.
- Evaluate and recommend new platform features, plugins, connectors, and agentic AI capabilities as they emerge from Microsoft and Moveworks.
Integration Architecture
- Design and govern the integration layer connecting Copilot and Moveworks to enterprise systems such as ServiceNow, Workday, JDE, Active Directory, HRIS, LMS, and CMDB.
- Define API strategies, event-driven patterns, connector frameworks, and messaging standards that enable secure, reliable, and scalable data flows across platforms.
- Partner with the Azure architecture team to ensure integration patterns align with cloud infrastructure, identity (Entra ID), and security standards.
Lead Solution Architecture
- Provide end-to-end solution design and technical authority for all AI agent, copilot, and automation solutions built on these platforms.
- Lead architecture reviews, approve design decisions, and ensure solutions are production-ready, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards.
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable, repeatable architectural patterns and executable design strategies.
Governance, Mentorship & Innovation
- Develop, institute, and maintain platform-specific design methodologies, development standards, security patterns, and operational best practices.
- Provide training, coaching, and technical mentorship to Forward-Deployed Engineers (FDEs), solution developers, and IT team members on Copilot and Moveworks architecture.
- Survey emerging developments in agentic AI — including multi-agent orchestration, RAG patterns, and tool-using agents — and recommend approaches that extend platform value.
- Develop and maintain architecture models, reference designs, integration maps, and documentation for current and proposed implementations.
What you’ll need (Required):
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including significant depth in platform architecture, integration architecture, or solution architecture.
- 3+ years in an architect role working with cross-functional teams (within IT and/or business) on enterprise-level or complex system implementations.
- Deep expertise in at least one of the following: Microsoft Copilot ecosystem (M365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Graph API, Graph Connectors, Copilot extensibility) or Moveworks platform (conversational AI, enterprise integrations, workflow automation).
- Strong integration architecture skills: REST/GraphQL APIs, event-driven architectures, enterprise connectors, middleware, and messaging patterns (e.g., Azure Service Bus, Logic Apps, Power Automate).
- Proven ability to design end-to-end solution architectures for enterprise AI, automation, or digital workplace platforms.
- Experience defining platform standards, governance frameworks, and reusable architectural patterns at enterprise scale.
- Strong understanding of identity, security, and compliance requirements in enterprise AI deployments (e.g., Entra ID, conditional access, DLP, data classification).
- Expert-level documentation and communication skills — ability to create architecture blueprints, integration maps, and present complex technical concepts to senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including cross-functional negotiation, vendor management, and the ability to drive alignment across distributed teams.
What else we look for (Preferred):
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio — building custom copilots, plugins, connectors, topics, and generative AI orchestration.
- Hands-on experience with Moveworks platform — configuring enterprise virtual agents, workflow automation, knowledge integration, and analytics.
- Experience with agentic AI patterns including multi-agent orchestration, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), tool-using agents, and planner-executor models.
- Experience integrating AI platforms with enterprise systems such as ServiceNow, Workday, SAP, Active Directory, LMS, and CMDB.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) as an automation and extensibility layer.
- Experience deploying AI solutions in regulated industries (e.g., medical device, pharmaceuticals, financial services) with attention to governance and responsible AI practices.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert, TOGAF, or equivalent architecture frameworks.
- Track record of mentoring engineers and building technical communities of practice.
Why is this role different?
This is not a generic enterprise architect role. You will be the single technical authority for two of the most strategic AI platforms at Edwards Lifesciences — platforms that are actively transforming how our work, decide, and collaborate. You will shape the architecture, set the standards, and mentor the next generation of Forward-Deployed AI Engineers who build on these platforms every day.
You will operate at the intersection of platform strategy, hands-on architecture, and business impact — with direct visibility to senior IT leadership and the opportunity to influence how a global healthcare company scales agentic AI responsibly.

Edwards Lifesciences Insights
What We Do
Edwards Lifesciences (NYSE: EW), is the global leader in patient-focused medical innovations for structural heart disease, as well as critical care and surgical monitoring. We thrive on discovery and expanding the boundaries of medical technology, serving patients in 100+ countries, with the help of our employees in areas including Clinical Affairs, Quality Engineering, Research & Development, Regulatory Affairs, Sales & Marketing, corporate functions and more. Our roots date back to 1958 when Miles Lowell Edwards, a retired engineer with a background in hydraulics and fuel pump operations, set out to build the first artificial heart. Edwards believed the heart could be mechanized and was encouraged by Dr. Albert Starr to focus on developing an artificial heart valve. After just two years, the first Starr-Edwards mitral valve was developed and successfully placed in a patient. This innovation spawned Edwards Laboratories. Miles’ fascination with healing the heart and helping patients with heart disease stemmed from his own experience with rheumatic fever as a teenager and continues to fuel our patient-first culture today. Today, we are as passionate about providing innovative solutions for people fighting cardiovascular disease as we have ever been. It's our Credo. It takes integrity, collaboration, innovation, and focus. We are leaders in the design and manufacture of tissue replacement heart valves and repair products as well as advanced hemodynamic monitoring. We partner with physicians to innovate products designed to help patients live longer, healthier, and more productive lives. Our work is both rewarding and a privilege. The importance of what we do defines our approach. We work together to create an environment where ideas can flourish and we provide our people with the resources, expertise and support to bring those ideas to life.
