Architect, Enterprise

The Enterprise Architect is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and management of ABS architecture models and their lower-level components. This position will interpret, use and apply information contained within ABS architecture to inform a range of business improvement activities, particularly those involved in the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of ABS support systems.

Preferred locations for this role are Houston, Texas or Knoxville, Tennessee. 

What You Will Do:

• Innovate and evangelize the application of IT technology in solving evolving needs of the enterprise.
• Use standards and best practices to create and support the Enterprise Architecture Governance program.
• Work across various domains of IT and business to facilitate the adoption of the architecture vision.
• Create artifacts and communicate significant aspects of any architectural initiatives to the stakeholder.
• Develop and guide architecture development efforts in various areas like system, information, data, security, process, and reporting.
• Lead/assist development program, and project and manage a team in multi-cultural and geographical environments.
• Perform audit and health check of the system implementation to make sure architectural principles are correctly followed.
• Lead a peer of architects and build teams.
• Research new technology trends and determine the feasibility of it performing Proof-Of-Concept (POC).
• Create roadmaps and plans for technology adoption in support of business needs.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent subject
• 10 or more years of professional experience in IT or related fields.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proven experience in systems architecture, data architecture, design, and development.
• Exceptional understanding of the organization s business goals and objectives.
• Experience with EA frameworks (e.g., Zachman, TOGAF, FEA, etc.) preferred.
• Experience as a lead architect with the enterprise-scale application.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent process/architecture/systems modeling skills (e.g., BPMN, UML, ER, etc.)
• Experience using Enterprise Architecture modeling tools.
• Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products as required.
• Ability to strategically consider all sides of an issue within the context of time, breadth, and range of options.
• Solid grounding in core enterprise applications as well as technical knowledge of IT infrastructure.
• Experience with Java, J2EE, C#, .NET, Oracle, SQL Server, NoSQL, Design Patter, Cloud, and Mobility is required.
• Excellent planning, customer service, and analytical skills.
• Obtain a working knowledge of the Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management System.

Reporting Relationships:

The incumbent reports to a Manager, Director, or Executive level position. This position does not have any direct reports.
