Arc XP (www.arcxp.com) is a cloud-based digital experience platform that helps enterprise companies, retail brands, and media and entertainment organizations create and distribute content, drive digital commerce, and deliver powerful multichannel experiences. A division of The Washington Post, Arc XP has powered the digital transformation of customers across the globe, currently serving more than 2,700 sites in 30 countries that reach more than 1.5 billion unique visitors monthly. As a business unit of The Washington Post, we are scaling our operations and continuing to build on our success. To support our growth, we are seeking a dynamic and strategic Finance Director to join our executive leadership team.

As the Finance Director for Arc XP, you will provide financial leadership, strategic guidance, and operational support to drive the success of our business unit. Reporting directly to the President of Arc XP, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to The Washington Post’s corporate finance team,  you will play a key role in overseeing financial strategy, collaborating with the parent company’s finance team, and ensuring operational and fiscal discipline across Arc XP. This role drives strategic finance initiatives for Arc XP directs the efforts of internal shared services teams—including accounts receivable/payable, financial accounting, tax, risk, and billing—to support business objectives and ensure alignment with enterprise-wide financial operations.

You will work closely with internal teams—Product, Sales, Customer Success & Accounts, Operations, and Engineering—to align our financial strategy with business objectives. A critical part of your role will also be to help hold the Arc XP executive team accountable for delivering on our budget and operational plan. Given Arc XP’s size and structure, this position requires a leader who can scale between high-level strategy and hands-on execution, diving into operational details such as reporting, client billing, AR/AP, financial systems and deal desk proposals when necessary. Additionally, you will act as a key liaison with The Washington Post’s corporate finance team, ensuring financial alignment, compliance, and reporting accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Strategy & Leadership

    • Partner with the President and executive leadership team to define and execute Arc XP’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and the broader objectives of The Washington Post.

    • Serve as a trusted advisor on all financial matters, providing insights, recommendations, and data-driven analyses to support decision-making and long-term planning.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting

    • Oversee the budgeting and forecasting process for Arc XP, working closely with the parent company’s FP&A team to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with overall company goals.

    • Own and maintain Arc XP corporate Long-Range Plan (LRP) and related modeling on behalf of executive leadership team and be responsible for collaborating and submitting point-in-time versions to parent company for consolidation

    • Monitor financial performance against key metrics and provide regular updates to Arc XP’s leadership team.

  • Operational Oversight

    • Address day-to-day financial and operational challenges, including resolving invoicing discrepancies, responding to reporting inquiries, and supporting deal desk proposals to ensure smooth operations.

    • Collaborate with internal teams (Product, Sales, Customer Success & Accounts, Operations, and Engineering) to support financial planning, pricing strategies, and revenue optimization initiatives.

    • Guide the development and implementation of business cases for new investments and initiatives, ensuring alignment with financial and operational objectives.

  • Finance IT Coordination

    • Partner with the parent company’s finance team to coordinate finance-related IT projects, ensuring successful implementation and alignment with Arc XP’s operational needs.

    • Advocate for system improvements, integrations, or tools that enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

  • Accountability & Performance Management

    • Work closely with the President to hold the Arc XP executive team accountable for meeting budget targets, operational plans, and performance objectives.

    • Establish clear metrics and reporting structures to monitor progress and ensure alignment with strategic goals.

    • Lead financial reporting for Arc XP, delivering clear, accurate, and actionable insights to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Stakeholder Management & Corporate Finance Alignment

    • Serve as the primary financial interface between Arc XP and The Washington Post’s corporate finance team, ensuring seamless coordination on budgets, reporting, and shared financial processes.

    • Represent Arc XP’s financial priorities while aligning with corporate policies and best practices.

    • Ensure financial compliance with corporate policies and applicable regulations, working closely with The Washington Post’s accounting and compliance teams.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in finance, with a focus on SaaS, technology, or enterprise B2B businesses.

  • Proven ability to work within a shared-services model, collaborating across organizational boundaries to achieve results.

  • Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, with a track record of supporting growth-stage businesses.

  • Experience managing or coordinating finance-related IT projects is highly preferred.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus across diverse stakeholders.

  • Experience working in or with a parent-subsidiary or business unit structure is highly preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA designation is a plus.

The Washington Post’s policy for employees is five days per week in the office, with exceptions for newsgathering and general business travel.

Benefits may vary based on the job, full-time or part-time schedule, location, and collectively bargained status.

The salary range for this position is:

130,300.00 - 242,100.00 USD Annual

The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
