The Role

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The AR Supervisor- Cash Application supervises a team of up to seven(7) Accounts Receivable Specialists. The Cash Application  Team provides financial and administrative support by ensuring FirstKey Homes receipts for rents and security deposits are applied timely and accurately to resident ledgers. Duties  includes reviewing the resident ledgers for affected transactions prior to funds being applied, processing resident rent adjustments to comply with various Federal and State Housing Authority Program (HAP) contracts and resolving discrepancies according to established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Supervise team of Accounts Receivable Specialists to drive performance in the following areas:
    • Process resident payments to ledgers accurately and timely to include bankruptcy trustee payments.
    • Review and process resident ledger adjustments as needed.
    • Audit and reconcile resident accounts.
    • Process all returns of resident receipts and credit card disputes.
  • Promote and reinforce customer service orientation and compliance standards with internal departments and external agencies.
  • Investigate and resolve escalated discrepancies, seek manager approval when needed.
  • Review, develop, implement, and document policies and procedures. Update and maintain operating documents according to organizational changes.
  • Identify potential efficiencies and internal control enhancements through the implementation of technology.
  • Serve as project leader regarding technology implementation and enhancements.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Primarily working indoors, office environment an may sit for several hours at a time
  • Prolonged exposure to computer screens
  • Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Four-year College Degree in Business, Accounting, or General Business or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2-year of overall accounting and cash application experience
  • Minimum 2-year leadership experience in supervising and managing small to medium size teams
  • Experience with banking regulations, bankruptcy guidelines for receipts and processing receipts
  • Experience in contributing to and leading small projects
  • Experience using Yardi or similar property management program
  • Experience working in a fast pace, high-growth company
