INTERRELATIONSHIPS: Maintains open communication lines with executive team, facility staff, attending clinicians and physicians, clients and families. Liaisons with community agencies, vendors, and payors of health services.
POSITION PURPOSE: The function of the APRN is to assist the Medical Director provide substance abuse services. The APRN goal is to assist in ensuring all clinical programs are safe and appropriate to the clients’ specific issues, drug of choice, psychiatric evaluations, charting and documentation and medical history. APRN will direct and coordinate medical services and care in coordination with the Medical Director and other areas of the organization while making reasonable accommodations to ensure clients are safe and comfortable as possible during their stay.
 

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION

1. Perform complete psychiatric evaluations to each new client within timelines stipulated in the facility policy and procedure manual and in accordance with DCF 65-D30 licensing standards.
2. Ensure all notes and notes of the staff are completed on time per the timelines stipulated and required by our billing company and Clean Recovery Centers Management.
3.  Assists the physician in providing medical protocols 
4.  Makes recommendations for follow-up services that reflect the findings or risk factors discovered during medical assessments.
5.  Ensure that clients are referred to specialists when the medical needs of a client cannot be met by the providers of the addiction treatment center.  
6.  Assists in the monitor and ensure the provision of all prescribed drugs and medically necessary pharmaceutical services.
7. Assists in ensuring that drug utilization reviews are appropriately conducted and documented as outlined in the policy and procedure manual and to specifically indicate the use/do not use abbreviations list and look alike/sound alike medications.
8.  Assists in the implement and maintain policies and procedures to ensure the Clients' right to confidentiality of medical information.
9. Ensure that client's rights and responsibilities are communicated these to agency clients and providers.
10. Maintain procedures for monitoring the coordination of care provided to clients, including but not limited to all medically necessary services delivered both within and outside the addiction treatment agency.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

1.  EDUCATION: Licensed APRN in the State of Florida, with unrestricted licenses to practice medicine. Sufficient knowledge and expertise to competently provide care in accordance with applicable standard of practice in a detoxification treatment setting.

2.  EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years.

3.  LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Licensed APRN in the State of Florida

4.  KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE:

  • Extensive substance abuse medical treatment experience specifically inpatient detoxification.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety and infection control standards.
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
  • Ability to work with computers and possess good time management skills.
  • Ability to work under immediate supervision.
  • Knowledge of the Principles and Practices of the discipline. 
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards.
  • Demonstrates Proficiency in Communication & Written skills.
  • Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Client Confidentiality laws.
  • Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Violence.

6. SECURITY MEASURERS AND CLEARANCE: Full Background Clearance and Urinalysis Required

Skills Required
