AtkinsRealis, is looking for an Engineering Apprentice to join the Middle East Land Development team, to work on projects based principally across different ME offices.

The ideal candidate would be a well-rounded civil engineer, technically competent, with exemplary communication skills. This role would support projects in multiple Infrastructure sectors.
The candidate must be willing to participate in the Practice and foster collaboration with colleagues. They would also demonstrate a commitment to and participation in the industry.

Your roleAs an Engineering Apprentice in the team, the successful candidate would have the following responsibilities:
- Undertake Design following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels.
- Responsible for preparing designs and drawings, developing report briefs, understanding the scope of work, and providing inputs to the project.
- Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
- Work closely with teams in the ME and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
- Adhere to quality assurance standards in design.
- Bachelor’s degree (Civil Engineering) from an institute of repute.
- 0-2 years of experience in the Road Design Industry.
- Engineer with sound problem-solving skills, and a pragmatic, practical mind.
- Able to work independently to deliver work, as well as part of a team.
- Take accountability and responsibility for work carried out by the individual or the team.
- Work well with and form relationships with others, including the client team, other disciplines, and contractors at all levels (junior – senior) inside and outside the business.
- Be self-motivated to produce high-quality deliverables.
- Flexible attitude to the type of work undertaken, level of responsibility given, and work location.
- Have experience coordinating with other disciplines in multi-discipline projects.
- Produce designs following ME standards and regulations.
- Strong communication skills, independent working, presenting, and influencing skills.
- Ability to undertake designs following relevant codes and standards.
- Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows and tools like Revit or Navisworks.
- Awareness of packages like AutoCAD, AuotoCAD Civil 3D (even if not proficient yet).
- Knowledge on Road Geometry, Longitudinal Sections, Cross sections.
- Familiarity with topographic surveys and GPS data.
- Understanding local and international design codes
- Digital skills desired but not essential – appetite to learn is key.
- Robust experience in change management and QA processes.
- Software Competencies
- MS Office (including MS Excel - Visual Basic Script desirable) - proficiency.
- Autodesk products (AutoCAD, Civil 3d) - introductory-level skills.
- NavisWorks - introductory-level skills
