The Applied R&D Engineer conducts target-oriented research to directly apply findings to the specification, design, further development, and incremental improvement of products, services, systems, tools, processes, etc. Integrates, verifies, tests, and modifies SW / HW / system components and capitalises on innovative solutions to meet particular requirements and specifications.
- Strong understanding on “IEEE 802.11 standards (a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be/etc) , Voip, SIP and related network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS) embedded systems (drivers, firmware on Linux/RTOS(OpenWRT/PrplOS)), performance , statistics and Management protocols: OMCI, TR069/TR098/TR181, USP.
- Good Understanding Qualcom/Mediatek/RealTek WiFi chipsets/solutions
- Good understanding on new Wi-Fi System-on-Chips (SoCs) , drivers, integrate with hardware.
- Well versed with debugging tools like ASAN,KSAN, Valgrind Memory Profiling Tool, GDB.
- Understanding different SoC Architecture including 32 bit, 64bit and respective tool chains and able to collaborate with different Vendors to make the solution up and running.
You have:
- Bachelor or above, telecommunication, electronic engineering, computer science, or related major preferred with 5 to 10 years strong development & debugging understanding on C / C++ in multi process/ threaded environment with following skills.
- Strong understanding on “IEEE 802.11 standards (a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be/etc) , Voip, SIP and related network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS) embedded systems (drivers, firmware on Linux/RTOS(OpenWRT/PrplOS)), performance , statistics and Management protocols: OMCI, TR069/TR098/TR181, USP.

It would be nice if you also had:
- Strong understanding on Linux , IPC techniques, user space and kernel space deep understanding and good understanding on network architecture is preferred
- Understanding of IPV4/IPV6 addressing and TCP/IP and basic understanding of L2/L3 routing, Multicast/IPTV protocols
- Working on GPON technologies is added advantage
Skills Required
- Strong technical background in VoIP protocols (SIP, H.248, T.38, RTP)
- Familiarity with voice test instruments (e.g., Abacus) and fax/modem testing
- Core knowledge in IMS, VoLTE, VoIP, SIP testing domain and voice quality/QoS
- Understanding of ITU-T G.168 echo cancellation, DSP, and voice codecs
- Experience with RTP/RTCP and RFC2833
- Familiarity with management protocols (SNMP, Netconf, YANG)
- Good understanding of RJ11 and Z-interface specifications
- Strong knowledge of testing concepts, methodologies, test strategy, and test plan development
- Bachelor's degree or above in telecommunications, electronic engineering, computer science, or related field
- 5+ years experience in VoIP related product testing (FTTx, access gateway, softswitch, or IMS)
- Hands-on experience with testing/traffic simulation tools such as SIPp and voiceTool
- Hands-on experience in test automation development using Python and Shell and automation frameworks (Robot, Selenium)
- Experience with products like xDSL, GPON, and IPDSLAM
- Analytical skills and problem-solving aptitude
- Understanding of IPv4/IPv6 addressing, TCP/IP, and basic L2/L3 routing
- Ability to work with discretion and apply specialist knowledge to solve complex problems and improve processes
