The Applied R&D Engineer conducts target-oriented research to directly apply findings to the specification, design, further development, and incremental improvement of products, services, systems, tools, processes, etc. Integrates, verifies, tests, and modifies SW / HW / system components and capitalises on innovative solutions to meet particular requirements and specifications.
- Strong technical background of VoIP related protocols, such as SIP, H.248, T38, RTP, etc Familiar with voice test instrument, such abacus, fax/modem
- Core knowledge in IMS, VoLTE, VoIP, SIP Testing domain , voice quality/QoS, ITU-T G.168 echo cancellation, DSP ,Voice codecs, RTP/RTCP, RFC2833” and Management protocols: SNMP, Netconfig/Yang.
- Good Understanding RJ11, Z-interface specs.
- Strong Knowledge in Testing Concepts & Methodologies, Test Strategy & Test Plan.
You have:
- Bachelor or above, telecommunication, electronic engineering, computer science, or related major preferred with 5+ years Experience in VoIP related product testing ( FTTx, Access gateway, softswitch or IMS).
- Hands of Experience in Testing / Traffic Simulation Tools like SIPp ,voiceTool.
- Exposure to Test Automation, hands on experience in automation development in Python & Shell and automation frame work , like Robot, Selenium.
- Experience with products like xDSL, GPON, and IPDSLAM, aligning well with the product line will be added advantage.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Analytical skills and problem-solving aptitude
- Understanding of IPV4/IPV6 addressing and TCP/IP and basic understanding of L2/L3 routing.
- Works with substantial discretion and uses specialist knowledge, analytical skills, judgment and broad conceptual and practical experience to solve complex problems and to contribute to process improvements
Skills Required
