Job Summary & Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Applied AI Solutions Lead to help advance how the firm applies AI to the daily work of its business teams. This role is a strategic partner to business teams, responsible for identifying and shaping how AI capabilities should be applied to a team's work, and translating firm-wide AI platform investments into decisions a business leader can act on. The firm is now extending these platforms into the systems where work actually happens, including AI-enabled Microsoft 365 applications and approved connections to both structured and unstructured firm data, and this role helps business teams understand what that means for them and how to use it well. This role partners closely with business teams across Bessemer, as well as with GenAI Development, Information Security, Data Governance, Risk Management, Legal, and Compliance teams.
The ideal candidate combines strong applied knowledge of AI capabilities with a strategist's ability to partner with a business team on how work should evolve. This individual will sit with business leaders, understand how their teams actually operate, and help them decide where AI creates real leverage, including where it does not. The role brings a working knowledge of the firm's AI platforms, approved connectors, and AI-enabled Microsoft 365 capabilities so that guidance to the business is grounded in what these tools can genuinely do, not their marketing description. The role advises on and helps shape solutions built on approved platforms and data paths and works within the firm's data architecture and governance.
This position requires a strategic mindset, strong applied AI literacy, and the ability to communicate AI capabilities and limitations in terms of business value, client impact, and operational risk.
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner directly with business teams to understand how work is actually performed, including steps that are undocumented, manual, or worked around.
  • Analyze data on bus partnership
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities where AI creates measurable leverage in a business workflow, and advise clearly where it does not.
  • Advise business teams on how to make effective use of approved AI platform capabilities, including Skills, Projects, Custom GPTs, and Microsoft 365 add-ins.
  • Help business teams understand what is realistic when AI solutions draw on firm data, spanning structured sources such as CRM and reporting systems and unstructured sources such as document repositories and shared content libraries.
  • Advise on how AI-enabled Microsoft 365 capabilities, across Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook, can and should be applied to a team's actual work.
  • Serve as the business-facing partner during evaluation and rollout of approved connectors between AI platforms and enterprise systems, helping teams understand what a connector will and will not do for them.
  • Flag the data access, classification, and permission questions a proposed use case raises, and route them to Information Security and Data Governance early.
  • Set realistic expectations with business teams on solution quality and limitations, including how scope and data currency affect what a connected AI capability can reliably deliver.
  • Determine which steps in a workflow require human judgment and which can be supported by AI, and document that reasoning for review.
  • Prepare solutions for firm governance review, including documentation, testing evidence, and identification of a named business owner.
  • Establish and maintain business ownership of delivered solutions so they remain supported and maintainable independent of any individual.
  • Convert individual solutions into repeatable patterns and maintain a catalog of reusable solutions available across the firm.
  • Collect and synthesize practitioner feedback and translate it into platform, capability, and vendor roadmap input.
  • Contribute to the firmwide AI use case inventory and to the evidence base for realized business value.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, and Information Security where solutions involve client data, client-facing output, or supervisory obligations.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving AI platform capabilities, including agentic features, and assess their applicability to firm workflows.
  • Contribute to standards, operational playbooks, solution documentation, and technical enablement content.
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to the development of applied AI best practices across the organization.
Qualifications
Required Experience
  • 6+ years of experience in management consulting, business analysis, process design, product management, or a business role with technology partnership accountability within enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on, applied experience using AI platforms to solve real business problems, with outcomes that others in the organization adopted and relied on.
  • Demonstrated experience shaping how a business workflow should evolve, not only documenting it, with results that can be described concretely.
  • Strong applied understanding of prompt and context design, model capabilities and limitations, and what separates a use case that will work well from one that will not.
  • Experience working with enterprise SaaS platforms and translating platform capabilities into business guidance.
  • Proven ability to balance business objectives with governance, risk, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience helping a technology solution or use case move through a formal risk, compliance, or audit review process.
  • Strong working knowledge of document-centric and data-centric business workflows, including Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Applied understanding of how AI solutions draw on enterprise data sources, including both structured systems and unstructured document repositories, well enough to set realistic expectations with a business team.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 content and collaboration structures, including SharePoint and OneDrive, and familiarity with Office add-ins, plugins, or comparable in-application AI tooling.
  • Practical understanding of data classification, permissioning, and access models, and how they shape what a business team can realistically expect an AI tool to access.
  • Ability to explain, in business terms, why an AI-enabled capability is underperforming, and to advise a team on what would need to change.
  • Experience gathering user feedback and translating it into prioritized capability requirements.
Professional Skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process design capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain AI capabilities and limitations to non-technical business audiences.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Collaborative team player with strong stakeholder management skills and credibility with senior business colleagues.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to operate both strategically and in close, day-to-day partnership with business teams.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a business, technology, or quantitative discipline preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Industry certifications preferred but not required.
Preferred Attributes
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries such as financial services.
  • Domain experience in private wealth management, trust and estates, investment management, or family office services.
  • Familiarity with enterprise AI platforms such as Claude Enterprise or ChatGPT Enterprise, including agentic capabilities.
  • Familiarity with retrieval-based or search-based AI solution patterns and the tradeoffs involved in scoping what a tool can see, well enough to explain them to a business audience.
  • Experience with Salesforce or comparable CRM data, and with APIs or integration platforms.
  • Familiarity with emerging AI governance frameworks and guidance from organizations such as NIST.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale technology adoption or transformation initiatives.
  • Passion for continuous learning and staying ahead of emerging AI capabilities and applications.
