Summary:
As a Planview Application Engineer, you will be responsible for configuring, customizing, and supporting Planview solutions to meet organizational project and portfolio management needs. Your typical day will involve collaborating with PMO teams, IT teams, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, develop system configurations, and troubleshoot technical issues. You will work on integrating Planview with other enterprise systems, building dashboards and reports, and ensuring data integrity and system performance. Your role requires strong technical expertise, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to problem solving to ensure seamless operation of the platform.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Expected to perform independently and become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Planview and related technologies.
Required active participation and contribution in team discussions and solution design.
Configure and customize Planview modules including Portfolio Management, Resource Management, Financial Planning, and Time Tracking.
Develop and maintain Planview dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.
Integrate Planview with enterprise tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, and SAP.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to Planview users.
Collaborate with PMO, IT teams, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and implement solutions.
Assist in development, configuration, and implementation of new system features and enhancements.
Ensure data integrity, system stability, and optimal performance of the Planview platform.
Interact with vendor support teams to resolve environment, performance, or system-related issues.
Professional & Technical Skills:
Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Planview PPM configuration and development.
Strong experience in project and portfolio management concepts and functional modules such as Project Management, Portfolio Management, Resource Management, Financial Management, Demand Management, and Time Sheet Management.
Experience with Planview reporting tools including JasperSoft Reports and data visualization techniques.
Strong coding experience with ability to learn new technologies and scripting languages such as GEL Script and XOG.
Familiarity with integration technologies such as REST APIs and ETL tools.
Experience with DevOps and continuous integration/deployment tools such as Jira, RallyDev, Bamboo, GitHub, or Jenkins.
Experience working in cloud-based environments (SaaS / PaaS).
Knowledge of Planview or CA PPM administration including Time Period Setup, Resource Setup, User Security, Jobs scheduling, Processes, Financial setup, and New UX.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement permanent fixes.
Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to business stakeholders and non-technical users.
Additional Information:
The candidate should have minimum 5 years of Information Technology experience with extensive coding background.
At least 2–3 years of experience in Planview / CA PPM functional modules is required.
Experience with GEL scripting, REST APIs, integrations, and XOG will be considered an added advantage.
The candidate should possess a Bachelor s Degree with 5 years of IT experience OR Technical Certification with 5–7 years of IT experience.
Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or hybrid development environments is preferred.
