Summary:
As an Application Support Engineer, a typical day involves acting as a software detective by investigating and resolving issues across various components of essential business systems. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying problems, analyzing system behavior, and ensuring the smooth operation of critical applications. The position demands continuous monitoring, collaboration with different teams, and delivering timely solutions to maintain system reliability and performance in a dynamic environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to perform independently and become an SME.
- Required active participation/contribution in team discussions.
-Install, configure, administer, maintain, and upgrade IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) 8.5.x/9.x, IBM HTTP Server (IHS), and IBM WebSphere Portal environments.
-Manage WebSphere infrastructure including Profiles, Nodes, Clusters, Deployment Managers (DMGR), -Application Servers, web server integrations, and Portal components.
Deploy, configure, and support enterprise applications (EAR/WAR), Portal applications, themes, portlets, and related middleware services.
-Configure and manage JDBC, JMS, Data Sources, Connection Pools, JNDI resources, Virtual Hosts, SSL certificates, LDAP integration, security settings, redirections, and rewrite rules.
-Perform Fix Pack, iFix, SDK, version upgrades, migrations, patching, security hardening, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities across environments.
-Troubleshoot application, deployment, startup, performance, JVM, connectivity, web server, plugin, and Portal-related issues using logs, FFDCs, heap dumps, and thread dumps.
-Conduct JVM tuning, performance optimization, capacity planning, environment health checks, failover testing, and infrastructure maintenance activities.
-Provide L2/L3 support for production and non-production environments, ensuring high availability and operational stability.
-Participate in Incident, Problem, Change, Release, and CAB processes, including maintenance windows and on-call support rotations.
-Develop and maintain SOPs, runbooks, technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge management artifacts.

Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in IBM WebSphere Application Server Application Deployment.
- Strong understanding of application server architecture and deployment processes.
- Experience in IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) 8.5.x / 9.x
- Experience in IBM HTTP Server (IHS)
- Experience in IBM WebSphere Portal Administration
- Experience in Linux, AIX Administration
- Experience in SSL / TLS Certificate Management
- Experience in LDAP Integration (IBM Security Directory Server / Active Directory)
- Experience in Clustering, High Availability & Load Balancing
- Experience in JVM Performance Tuning
- Experience in Application Deployment (EAR/WAR)
- Experience in Shell Scripting (Unix/Linux)
- Experience in WebSphere Security and Authentication
-Troubleshooting, RCA and Log Analysis
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in IBM WebSphere Application Server Application Deployment.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
