Summary:
As an Application Support Engineer, a typical day involves acting as a software detective by proactively identifying and resolving issues across various components of essential business systems. This role requires a dynamic approach to troubleshooting, ensuring the smooth operation of critical applications. The position demands continuous monitoring, collaboration with different teams, and a commitment to maintaining system reliability and performance throughout the day.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of application issues and minimize downtime.
- Mentor junior team members to enhance their problem-solving skills and technical knowledge.
- Continuously evaluate and improve support processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Professional & Technical Skills:
1. Storage Management & Administration:
Manage, configure, and optimize NetApp storage platforms and Pure Storage Cloud Solutions for enterprise workloads.
Perform storage provisioning, LUN creation, volume management, snapshot management, and capacity optimization.
Configure and manage SAN zoning, masking, multipathing, and host connectivity where applicable.
Monitor storage performance, capacity utilization, health status, and availability across hybrid and cloud storage environments.
Support storage expansion, migration, lifecycle management, and refresh activities.
2. Backup, Replication & Disaster Recovery:
Implement, configure, and manage Azure Backup for workload protection and recovery.
Create, monitor, and validate backup policies, backup jobs, retention settings, and restore operations.
Perform backup troubleshooting, recovery testing, and restore validation for business-critical workloads.
Support snapshot, replication, and disaster recovery activities using NetApp, Pure Storage, and Azure-native capabilities.
Work closely with application, server, cloud, and security teams to align storage and backup policies with business requirements.
3. Troubleshooting & Optimization:
Investigate and resolve storage performance, availability, capacity, and backup failure issues.
Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity, zoning, replication, and backup-related incidents.
Perform cleanup activities, capacity reclamation, disk failure analysis, and recoverability testing.
Collaborate with server, network, cloud, and security teams to ensure seamless integration of storage and backup solutions.
4. Required Skills & Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in enterprise storage administration.
Hands-on experience with NetApp storage administration, including provisioning, snapshots, replication, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Experience with Pure Storage Cloud Solutions, including cloud-based storage operations, performance monitoring, and capacity management.
Hands-on experience with Azure Backup configuration, policy management, monitoring, backup troubleshooting, and restore operations.
Strong understanding of SAN architecture, LUN provisioning, zoning, multipathing, and host connectivity.
Knowledge of storage replication, snapshots, disaster recovery, and backup retention concepts.
Experience with storage integration such as NFS, SAN, and related storage operations.
Familiarity with iSCSI, MPIO is mandatory.
Scripting knowledge for automation such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python is preferred.
Experience working with Linux and Windows-based storage clients.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
